Power punch ???

the old trucker

New member
I must be getting old & forgetful. I think yesterday or the day before I was reading about how one member used a "Power Punch" ??, for impact tools.
For the life of me I can't seem to find it now. I know there were a couple of pics showing the jig he used. A friend of mine is getting geared up to redo the tracks on his Bombardier snowmobile & I wanted to get the brand name & number of this tool to show this to him. It sounds like a fast & easy way to do it. Can anyone help point me in the right direction before I crack up ? Thanks...I think. :w00t2::doh:

they work good in a drill also

Thanks Boggie. We have both air & heavy duty drill. We will be doing his first, so he can get it set up just right, that way it will be easier on this old body..... :whistling: Boggie I have a piece of used belting 4' wide & 40' long that I will use for my tracks & probably my buddies also. Any EASY way to cut this into strips ??
Thanks, OT.

well the easiest way is to find a company with a slitter. with that said we have heard
of using a triangler cycle bar cutter knife and a trailer like a big gooseneck pound the cycle cutters the width you want into the bed of the trailer then bolt on a board to leading edge to hook a chain to and screw two straight edge along side hook on with
a skid steer and pull slowly. have not done this but have heard it works

Like Dave Hessner says on the show STORAGE WARS....Yuuuuuuup !!

Used to use a hydralic press with an adjustable bar to adjust for the different pitches on different machines. It would punch up to 4 holes at once then just pull it ahead and put the holes you just punched onto an adjustable spacer barwith studs that went into the holes you just punched. this allows for consistent pitch.Infeed roll of belting was mounted on a stand to feed into the punch and a pick up hydralic roller rolled up the punched belts.Would run 600 feet strips at a time of up to 12 ply on that rig.
