Very interesting. :D

For it's day, the Wankel was amazing.
very inefficient and maintenance was an issue.

However, when they hummed, they Hummed.

This is very promising. Applications in aviation and marine. Low vibration and light weight.
There was no mention of noise. Are they quiet?

Looks interesting.
I have to wonder about it's ability to create torque of any magnitude. Torque requires high pressures some were, and this system uses no seals what so ever, and internal pressure just is not going to be very high. Hence the high RPM operation, requiring a gear box to get to a useable speed. The box is not cheap, and the power losses are not small either.
For some applications it might make sense.

When I was young, I wanted an RX 7 to drive around. Never have owned a Mazda rotary, but cool idea. The RX 8 was too big, and lost the cool factor of the 7.

They have gearboxes to reduce gas turbine shaft speeds down to usable RPM as in helicopters and turbojets for planes.
Yes indeed they do. I would love to see actual running specs. My guess is this is not a running prototype, or we would know much more.
But now you have to add that to the cost of the increased size of the engine to cover gear train power losses, and the cost of the gear box when comparing power units.
Maybe they could be cost competitive. Maybe not.
But then they have to pass muster with the EPA. That could be all the nails in the coffin... Or it could be this is just the thing....
It definitely sounds promising and will be something to watch.
