Pretty well known by longtime members that I am not a fan of Trump, and also that I am not a Republican. I'm a libertarian. I piss off everyone. Usually because I believe the Constitution is the rule of law, and that often sides me with the GOP positions, but often the GOP does stupid shit too. All that said, how can a thinking human not line up behind Trump against Biden? I see a lot of appeal to Kennedy, but he doesn't stand much chance. That said, he probably takes votes from Biden.
I, too, would possibly fall somewhere along the lines of a libertarian; although I'm not sure I fit nicely into the mold of any particular party. I used to consider myself a Republican mostly because I thought that ideology mostly aligned with my beliefs, but it turns out I think for myself too much to be a Republican. I even would have at one time considered myself to be a Trump supporter because he has done a great job of acting the outsider coming in to "drain the swamp", he has actually accomplished very little towards that goal. Heck, he even kept on much of Obummers staff when he took office?!? Further, despite his "A+" rating from the now defunct NRA, he IS NOT a protector of my beloved second amendment. The supreme court has had to overturn the bumpstock rule he had the ATF put into place. Worse yet, he supports taking away people's 2A rights before they are found guilty of anything under "Red Flag Laws". While I will still vote for him this year it is simply a matter of choosing the lesser of evils available.
One problem I have with Trump is his cult-like following. People take on his ideas as their own without putting much of their own thought into it. Case in point: Ukraine. Trump says we should not support Ukraine, so Republicans fall in line and start thinking the same thing. Lets think about this for one second and get down to the basic, simple facts surrounding the issue. Back in the 90's when the Soviet Union fell Ukraine had a large number of nukes in it's possession. We were concerned about these nukes coming into the hands of the wrong people and made a deal with Ukraine that if they turned over their nukes we would step in and protect them if Russia ever invaded. Ukraine agreed. They wanted to gain favor from the west even way back then. They wanted away from Russian control and away from Communism. Fast forward to 2014. Russia plants a "Lukashenko" (Russian controlled president) in Ukraine through vote tampering to create another puppet state like they have with Belarus. Ukrainian people reject this, and with help from CIA they oust this president and elect a new one. Not long after, Russia invades and takes over the Crimea. The west does nothing. In past generations, America could get behind helping the little guy out that is being bullied by the bigger guy. Historically that has gone double for countries trying to get out from under communist rule and this has always been wholeheartedly supported by the Republican party...the party that aligns itself with Patriots, that proudly displays Betsy Ross flags signifying their defiance to a government that wants to rule over them with an iron fist like England was trying to do prior to our Revolutionary War. And now we have an entire population of Ukrainian people in the EXACT SAME position that we were in, and because Trump says "Piss on em, let Evil do what it will" all of my Betsy Ross brethren just fall in line and say "yeah, good idea".
It's not a matter of money! People do not realize that these "Billions of dollars of military aid" are not actual dollars being sent to Ukraine to be spent as they see fit. Most of this aid is represented by old, stockpiled, cold war era junk that is sitting in munitions bunkers collecting dust and rust. This is equipment that is mostly obsolete and has been mothballed. Granted, we have given them SOME modern equipment...and with the very limited modern equipment we have given them they have produced incredible results! That all boils down to Trump saying "No, we should not give them the equipment that is destined for the thrift store, or the landfill" and his supporters falling in line and agreeing with him. All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. Trump has said that we should do nothing and that if he gets elected that he plans to stop the meager support we have been providing...he wants evil to prevail. As a God fearing man I cannot support that position.
Furthermore, these same people who do NOT support Ukraine DO support Isreal. People, it's a different front of the same effing war! Russia's closest ally, Iran, via proxy, start a war in Isreal to pull attention (and support) away from Ukraine. It is the most simple, basic, fundamental tactic in the book and you people fell for it! It worked like a charm! What's worse is that the two different fronts of the EXACT SAME WAR became politically divisive; the left supporting Ukraine (presumably only because the right was against it?) and not Isreal, and the Right supporting Isreal but not Ukraine (because Pied piper Trump said "no").
I guess what I'm saying is just try to think for yourself! Be aware of the possiblity that you are going along with Trump's ideology just because you think he is some savior that is going to save America from within (he's not, unfortunately); think for yourself reguardless of whose party you think you fit into.
