PC ram

Durwood RIP

Gone But Not Forgotten
My vista PC has only 1 gig of ram and i would like to add another 2 ram stick maybe next month. Can anyone tell me the cheapest place to buy it? Newegg i'vs used before and they are reasonable on stuff. Thanks.

Newegg is usually about the cheapest and where I usually end up buying. I usually go to Crucial's website and run their little plug in that will tell me the exact memory I need (I'm usually working on other people's computer and don't really know what they are) and then go to Newegg and find the exact memory that I need.

Dur, you probably need to research the allowable RAM configuration and capacities for your machine. You typically can not mix different RAM sizes. They usually have to pair up, especially on newer machines. If you want 2 gig more RAM, you may have to buy a second 2 gig RAM chip to meet your machines config.

Big Dog, i figured it would work cos i noticed a lot of the new machines in the ads are advertised with 3 gig of ram. That is what i was basing it on. I would buy 2 and then if needed buy 2 more to have an even 4 of needed. Thanks for all the help.
