Painting Estimate

House is 2200 square feet and needs inside painted. Not sure how much area there is to paint, not sure how to measure or estimate cost? I need a local painter to give me a free estimate?

I'm glad you found us, joined up and posted!!! You are off to a good start.

Are you going to paint it all the same color? If going with basic white I would get the 5 gallon contractor buckets and get er done. I'd start with 2 5 gallon buckets, do some painting and see how far they go. If you use an airless sprayer, the paint will go further. You can rent the sprayer if you don't already have one. As with all painting ....the preparation is the worst part of the job.

If you want to figure how many square feet you have to paint:
Measure the height of the wall.
Measure the width of the wall.
Now multiply the height times width.
So if your wall is 8ft tall and 11 feet wide you would need enough paint to cover 88 square feet (8 * 11 = 88).
Do that with every wall you plan to paint and then add them all up for your total square footage. But beware, you never get as much coverage as the can estimates you'll get (at least I never do).

I know interior and exterior are two different ballgames, but I just painted the outsides of two houses with a Wagner airless sprayer. As best as I can figure out I averaged about 300 square feet per gallon.

Good catch DOC. What the hell! I wouldnt have that son of a biatch paint my little garden fence. If he starts out here trying to decieve people what else does he do? Nice ethics "Mandoza"! Do you also rob older folks for all there worth. You are the type that says he will use the absolute best paint and do the best job but every single corner you can cut to screw people over you will all to make a few more bucks. Your pathetic! Get a life and a concious and get off this Forum! Now that is my opinion and may not be the opinion of the owner of this forum or any other members. But get lost dirt bag!
