Out of control?

New member
Today I finished a 6 day work week. One hell of a week with too much drama to include here. So I got me a 12 pack of beer, to relax for this Saturday afternoon. (worked from 9-12) During the week I only get a 6 pack of beer and drink it after 5 pm.
So I was on my first beer by 1 pm... and drank up 11 beers... and then wanted more beer and a fire in the back yard around 7 PM. So what did I do?
I went to town.. got another 6 pack, and went to the shop, and hooked up the trailer, and halled about 300 lbs of shipping crates - and pallets to my back yard. Set off a big o'll fire!! It was fun as hell. I've been doing this for years.
Am I nuts... or just a goofball having fun?

Sounds normal to me. Everyone loves a good bonfire and to get a little ripped on the weekends, especially in this state. I'm sure you aint the only one that does it up there!

In Wisconsin we NEVER drink and drive. NEVER!!
Might drink and then drive.
Well Tom, you started this thread and you appear to want advice, so here's mine.
You had a hard week, so you drank a lot of beer (to some a 12 pack isn't a lot of beer).
You then went out and got more beer.
You drove the car to get "more beer."
You must be a good driver under the influence.
That wasn't exactly the smartest thing to do.
What if you'd gotten pulled over for say.. something like a tail light being out?
Anything at all.
Do you lose your license then and your way to get to work to make money, thus not having funds to afford more beer?
My advice- look at the reasons you feel you may be out of control.
If the drank makes you feel better, that's your bag.
Just make sure you have enough in stock so you don't have to drive and go out for more.

PG, i agree here. think of it this way, sawyerdude: get your beer a case at a time. if anything, its cheaper that way, too!

sounds fun. have to agree about the D&D stuff -- if I run out of beer, I switch to harder stuff and mix it to keep the buzz going. bonfire sounds like a lot of fun, if we didn't have 85% humidity at the moment.

Erik i do that sometimes, too. but if im out of beer, and liquor, (i really dont keep liquor in the house much anymore,) ill get more beer depending on how much i had. if im buzzin then oh well. if im not, then ill ship out for a 6er or a case. i have beer to buy very close to me :yum:
thats one thing about my area: beer is never far away hahahahahaha

We love to get ahold of those shipping crates for bon fires. They burn great, but fast. At the beginning the fire is huge if you stack it way up, but it burns so fast that the fire shrinks fast. Do you use diesel fuel to start the fire? Diesel is perfect for that job, it does not flash like gasoline.
As for the beer, we always have beers around our fire also ...... but Rusty said it best; Next time buy a case or two. Don't mess around with those girly 12 packs or 6 packs. :yum:

I will take that advise. I;ll make sure I have more beer than I thought I needed before I go home. Thanks.

Drinking and burning stuff. Tsaw, you and I would get along so well.....:drink::1062::beer::flame2:

Oh yea.. Smoke..
I've burned TV"S Computers, Lawnmowers, Tires, large plastic children toys... a chainsaw, melted tons of beer bottles and beer cans. I'm a fire bug.:hammer:

I have used gasoline when I'm in a hurry. Not smart.. cuz the vapors settle around the thing and you get a WHOOSH!! and instant inferno.
Never used diesel. Thanks for the tip. When I'm not lazy, I use the bathroom garbage - which is mostly TP.. and take the plastic grocery bag and set it on a stack of pallets. Then put on some plastic on top of it. The plastic melts.. and get it all started. And Rusty did say it best. No more girly 12 packs and six packs!!!

mister! i would love to take those TVs for parts :hammer:

Lithium wouldnt mind, i promise :yum::yum:

The TVs were nothing you would want. Just generic 70, 80's stuff. Besides the amount of smoke ans snaps and pops were well worth the burn.
On my Hi 8 video cam I have a video of a 19" TV that was 80 lbs? Mostly all plastic. It was one bulky lug. I had a mound of hot coals.. and set this thing on them.
It smoked, it melted.. it finally caught on fire. Then I was waiting for the picture tube to implode... never did it take so long..When it did - it was like an m80 going off! Too much fun!

Drinking and bonfires ... takes me back to my youth. I love the combination! However, I agree with those who advise buying a case (or two) at a time and making sure you have enough on hand. I enjoy reading your posts, and am selfish enough to want to keep reading them into the foreseeable future, so please give me a break and quit driving after having a shitload of beer, okay?!?

Now if we're talking fireside quantities, can't beat the those big shiny cans that come with tap - maybe quarter barrel if you don't have much company. Since we're talking about safety though, the keg goes behind you, so it doesn't get warm - and not in the fire and going BOOM (more boom than you want! - I doubt you'd get the deposit back :hide: ).

i am! a little bit of work, a little bit of money, and a little bit of beer and the old girl is kickin once again!

well hope to have ya in here for longer tomorrow, bud!

Nothing like fix'n em yourself and a few beers to celebrate after...or curb the slipped wrench pain (ussually more ego damage than scaring for me) during.

We'll sure see. I probably better, because this weekend I won't have much online time; actually looking forward to the wingding, but won't be near a computer.

Not one person answered the original question, are you nuts or a goofball?

I say you are nuts, Mr........

WTF is work?

Sounds like a sickness to me!
