Opinions Needed or at least wanted!

Hey guys, I'm going to be selling the complete blade setup off my Tucker and I'm wanting some ideas on what it is worth. It is a 1978 model well used but still working. It is a six way blade with joystick valve included and I also have the original hoses, quick couplers, and bracket I cut off the frame. I have someone interested in it and don't know what to ask for it. If he doesn't end up with it; I will be actively trying to sell it as I don't have any use for it. I'm just looking for a bunch of opinions here so I can come up with some kind of reasonable price. Thanks,
Cruizer

$2500 is a good deal for someone wanting one for there Tucker. If a person wanted one from a dealer or parts guy they might have to pay as much as $5000

I couldn't imagine running a snowcat now without a front blade. They come in handy. I'm always using mine when I'm out in the lamtrac. Whether it be filling in creeks and ditches, busting through snowbanks, side hilling, pushing fallen trees out of the way, pushing broke down kristi's and snowtracs out of the way, making snowbridges across creeks then letting them stiffen up before crossing so you don't break through:poke: etc... Front blades are very useful.

I vote you keep the blade and mount it back on the cat.

That comment about Kristi's and Snowtracs was really funny!:whistling:
So I take it your dollar figure would be $PRICELESS
I see the advantages of the blade but the way I use my cat it was really in the way. I think if I want a blade at some point, I'll build a quick detach bracket for my Boss V plow.

Its not worth a thing ! Crate it up and send it to me and I will try to pay you scrap metal price . You will be lucky ,for me, to even consider taking it off your hands .:whistling:

I know ... I am being more than fair ,but hey , thats what Kristi owners do . :brows:
Oh and that one posters comment about The Superior Kristi Snowcat was uncalled for . Very bad taste ,but consider the source ....
Good day !

When a Krusti breaks through the ice they float don't they? Bathtub and all that.:whistling: Oh wait.... They have to run to get to the ice!:yum::yum::yum:

Aaron,

I've learned that Tucker offered two different styles of 6-way blades. The version you have allows the operator to change the bite or tilt of the blade fore and aft. The other version allows the blade to be angled left or right. The other (angle left or right) version is a straight blade that's eight feet wide. There are two bolt on wing sections that are nine inches long each. So you get a width of 9' 6" when assembled or 8' for transport.

The detachable pusher frame is different between a 1500 and 1600 series machine as the 1600 series tracks are longer and therefore the pusher frame needs to be longer.

I was told by a Tucker salesman that a 6-way blade probably adds about $3K to the value of a Tucker.

I don't know what one would be worth as a takeoff requiring a pretty involved installation. I suspect finding a used one like yours would be darn near impossible. Good Luck!
