Older Tucker Track tool

Swamp Cruizer

New member
Just thought I'd pass this on. Below are pictures of a simple track tool for installing or taking off belted tracks. My Tucker didn't come with one so I made this up out of a 2" ratchet strap. I drilled a 3/8" hole in two grousers (one on each side of the splice) . It works well on my model, could work for other applications too. The long strap length alows you to pull the track up off the ground which could be real handy for a field repair working alone.

I ended up making one out of a highlift jack, this idea is MUCH better! Easier to carry in the cat for field use, less cost and easier to use. Thanks.

it's a good idea i might have to to build up something like that for the st just incase i ever have to break a track in a place other than infront of the sproket

Hey, I like the tool. That is really clever. I made 2 special straps on my commercial sewing machine for steel track Tucker repair work. The straps work great because of clearance issues between the track and pontoon. Just wrap the straps around the track sections of you choice, connect with a shackle and connect your come along. They work great for repairs or reconnecting track. I carry them in my on-board tool kit. I tried my high-lift and it didnt work on the steel tracks because it was bulky and heavy and could pop off. The straps will not pop off and can be used to join track on a machine that cant be moved. I can make them fairly cheap. Contact me if your interested, if you need any other sewing repairs or fabrication and custom work. I have made alot of custom items like storage pockets, winch hook straps, rear cargo and seat covers, rear seats, seat repairs, custom dashes and just about anything else you can dream up. Best regards.
