The best way to find out what happens is to touch the top of it with your tounge.

KK, on a 9 volt the change will complete the circut and give a little shock. (Think about where the + and - are on a 9 volt.)

That's how I test 9v batteries to see if they're any good.
Unfortunately, :pat: my kids both saw me do it and tried it themselves. :o That surprised them. :StickOutT

Actually, for myself, the battery gradually (sp?) got warmer and warmer in my pocket until it got to hot to hold. By the time I got it out of my pocket, it was to hot to handle.

It was kinda funny. For the first ten minutes, my upper thigh kept getting warmer and warmer, and I thought I was imagining (sp?) it.

Sure as heck don't put a 9 volt in your pocket with a .22 cartridge ! Saw it in Guns & Ammo many years ago. If the cartridge bridges the battery contacts and is there long enough, it can go off. The author had one go off in his pocket. It was too dangerous and it just blew a small hole in his pocket. No flying bullets or anyhting like that. Just a big surprise !

That's worse than my .22 problem.....I lost a live one in the yard a couple years ago, and I still get a chill up my back when I mow over that area.
