Well it did not exactly go how I had planned. My original idea was to mount the oilcooler/fan inside the engine compartment up against the front grill. However, it was too close to the exhaust. Therefore, I committed a sin, which I'm sure I'll get some heat for and mounted cooler and fan on the fender. This summer I plan on rerouting the exhaust and will move it back inside the engine compartment. My wife went up there and she wanted to see if cat actually worked on snow so I McGyvered it on the fender. Hooked it all up and the temp/fan sensor leaked oil. I could not get it tight enough, even over wrapped with teflon tape. I left the temp sensor off and added a toggle switch to operate the fan.
I also removed the aluminum shield that covers about have the wire mess infront. Could not think of a reason it was needed for what I plan on using the cat for so its has been removed. I left the two oil coolers still attached inline from the pump. I figured I would adjust that this summer as well.
We drove all over and tried to push the temperature above 180. Most I ever saw was 200 degrees. Switched on the fan and it quickly dropped down to about 180.
I have attached some pictures. My wife was supposed to be clicking away, but mostly she was holding on. Oh...also this summer need to fix the brakes. Trackmaster rolls down hill very well. Generates lots of heat as your rolling down hill and eyeing to large Aspens and hoping the gap between them is at least 8'6". I did manage to bend one of the cleats.
However, Trackmaster performed great! Too bad winter is coming to a close here in Northern Utah.
How does a TrackMaster do in mud?
