My daughter watched this video yesterday. She keyed in on "harvard girl" because she may want to attend Harvard. Now she's not so sure. If that girl has got what it takes to get into Harvard then people might consider my daughter an idiot for wanting to go.
You know that Harvard sets the standard, and has for decades, for affirmative action. After spending nearly a month there, the 'white' student is in danger of extinction at Harvard. They can give Berkeley a run for their money on liberalism! Just like Obama, the girl in the video is a 'typical' example of what sort or student Harvard will produce. I was bluntly told, without any doubt, that a perfect grade point average, perfect score on the SAT, loads of extra-curricular activities that demonstrate leadership along with leadership in community service and recommendation letters from every teacher will almost never get you admitted into Harvard. It's more based on your essay question and PHOTO (they don't ask for your race or ethnicity, but you include a photo
).
I do not know, because I've not spent a month on their campus', but I wonder if Yale, Brown and Princeton are the same? Our educational system is like our government; it takes from those who work hard and give to those who stick their hand out and claim to be a minority. You won't find it published, but I was told that, at the colleges I mentioned, the white European ancestry student
is already the minority on those campus'. That is sort of scary in light of that short video clip which gives a brief snapshot of those students.
I've already spoken to my middle daughter, a senior in HS who can actually graduate with a perfect 4.0 GPA in December, about attending our local university, USI as opposed to several others she has considered. She learned from the prejudices demonstrated against my oldest daughter that a 4.0 GPA and perfect (or in Mel's case, near perfect) SAT score will NOT get you scholarships or even admittance to many colleges.
Duke denied Melanie when she applied there! Mel has a transcript that is flawless. She received a "B" on one test in 3rd or 4th grade, not on a report card, just one test during the year. Otherwise, from Kindergarten through HS graduation she aced every class and every test yet Duke declined her application. Our future is in serious trouble when that is the case. Megan, the senior now, has learned to play their games, and has received several free ride scholarships based on academics and SAT score she took as a junior in HS. However, back to our local university; my younger sister is a full partner in a huge law firm and wields much power on many boards within the firm and she attended undergraduate school at USI. Students like the ones shown in that video clip are going to eventually strip all prestige from diplomas from the old north east universities because they will fail in the game of 'real life'.
