2003 bx 23, dealer serviced, with usual wear for homeowner, no dents and everything works, no modifications. 214 hours. 48 inch tiller, KK, not the light duty one, post hole digger with 9" auger, new only did 12 holes, trailer, 2004 model, new tires on all 4, dual axles, brakes on both, 16' with 2' dove tail and drop down angle iron ramps. front loader and backhoe perfect, never abused. 60" mower deck

Price a new comparable outfit first. Then you could talk to your dealer about trade in value for yours as if you were trading up; then add a couple thousand to that to get a rock bottom price.
Plus I would go to traderonline.com and look for something similar. And look in all the buy sell and trade papers for like items. Comparing prices from a few sources should get you close to a realistic price.
Nearly new tractors can be the toughest to sell since the buyer could buy new instead and get a better warranty and better financing.
 
checked out some of the suggestions, even ebay.......nothing on them, so will contact dealers for price on bx 24, 23 and see. I have some nice add ons though...........trailer, tiller, post hole digger, 3point arm extensions, the clip on things, and tooth bar.

Good rubber with no patches in any tire, brakes on trailer require a brake controller, and 7 way connector. 216 hours, but that may go up a bit as I have to cut grass with it right now. anyone interested, will consider offers and breaking up the package some....all of the 3 point attachments with the tractor though.

Number one reason, MONEY, will pay off all debt but my house.

Number two reason, too many "favor" jobs.............I put 5 more hours on her this week........no money for it though

Number three, ZERO turn makes more sense, and I am thru working on the place with the implements, no more gardens, flower beds, post holes, trenches.......

Number four, see number 1 2 and 3.

It may not go, I checked on the tiller and the post hole digger today.......both of these are the heavy duty, not the light POS stuff. I have the whole thing too cheap. Trailer that is comparable is 2295. from a dealer...........looked up 7000 pound trailers. I would see without the trailer, but really dont want too.

Your reasons are good, but your reasoning on the price is flawed. I know of no one that is willing to pay as much for used equipment as they can buy new equipment for with a warranty. Sure, the trailer new might sell for $2295, but I doubt that you will get anywhere near that for it used. I would say that $1500 would be tops for a used trailer. That is about a 35% savings over new. Same goes for the other items. If I could buy something new, own or use it for a few years, and then sell it for 10 or 15% less than I paid, I would be overjoyed, but I know that isn't reality. Same with the tractor. You have to realize that the financing for a new Kubota BX24 is very low, and the actual cost of the tractors haven't gone up by much. I recently sold my Kubota Broom that cost $1600 new for $700, and I felt that I was lucky to sell it at all. I had only 2 people interested, and only one of them made me an offer. People are holding onto their money more now than ever, since they are not certain as to how the economy is going to be in the next few years. Too much uncertainty for people to spend a lot on used equipment, when the dealers are discounting the new stuff so drastically.

Actually 1500 is what I was pricing the trailer at in the package. 14000 for the bx is not bad, considering hours, no dings, and have the mower deck. The tiller is new at 1495.00, and the post hole digger is new at 795.00, so for 15500.00, you get the trailer and tractor combo with tiller and PHD. I also have the clip things on the 3 point that were so popular over on the other board way back when. Price is right, and that trailer for 2295 has no ramps and no side rails, mine does.

Actually, trailers without side rails, that are required on lighter built trailers for strength, are stronger and more expensive trailers. The trailers with side rails are considered "utility" trailers and most without are considered "car haulers" and are stronger. I couldn't find a link to his actual website, but here is a very good trailer dealer where you can buy your trailer brand new for under $1500; not anywhere near $2300. Here is a link for an example: Brand new trailer priceThe price shown is $1149, but by the time you put brakes on each axle, add the ramps and go with an 18' over a 16' trailer, you'll be just under $1500 for it brand new. Just being realistic, I seriously doubt that you can get more for a used trailer than what someone can buy one for brand new.

Oh yeah, I got my PHD new for $550 with both a 9" and 12" auger from my buddy who is a dealer in KY. It is Lienbach's heaviest model. It's no Danhauser (sp?), but is built as well or better than most others I looked at. Anyway, I couldn't get $350 for it after using it one season planting my trees. So, for no more than it's worth used, I decided I'd just keep it. I'm not going to sell a heavy PHD with a 9" and 12" auger for $250. So, used PHD's also don't seem to sell very well.

If you think that by trashing Dargo, you are going to increase the value of what you have, it isn't going to happen. We are all trying to point out the reality of the real life value of these items. If your price was such a great price, and the items such hot items, then it would have sold a long time ago. It is time that you open your eyes to the facts are presented to you. People just are not going to pay top dollar for used equipment, no matter how well you say it is taken care of. If I were to buy a used Kubota, I would be better off buying it from a Kubota dealer that is going to give me a warranty than to buy yours without a warranty, and for what you are asking, I am certain that I could buy it for the same price from a dealer. In fact, I think that for just a small amount more, I could buy a new one with 0 hours on it, and a full warranty. Here is a auction for a BX-24 for $14.495 and it has a full factory warranty till February 2010! Here is a 2007 BX-24 with a 60" mower deck with a 102 hours on it for a buy it now price of $15,500

Isn't a 2007 model with half the hours verses your 2003 model with double the hours worth $1500 more? It certainly would be to me and most other people, who know that if something fails on your tractor in the next 3 years, that they will have to pay for the repair out of pocket, rather than have it covered with warranty. I know some people that buy new tractors once the old one is out of warranty since they know how expensive the repairs can be when something fails.
You can purchase a new King Kutter XB Post Hole Digger Model# PHD-06-XD from Northern Tool for $695, and a King Kutter XB Rotary Tiller — 4ft. Model# TC-48-XB for $1,329.99 also from Northern. Both of these will come with a new warranty. You would be lucky to find someone that would be willing to pay you half of what these cost new, since the demand for such implements is so low. Just trying to sell this as a complete package is going to be difficult since not everyone will want everything, unless it were at a distressed bargain basement price. I think that you would have better success by breaking it down to its component parts and selling it off piecemeal.

I bought my PHD for around $500 (on sale) and sold it for around $450 a year later. Maybe it just depends on the time of year you are selling it and/or how many are for sale in your local market.

It's all a matter of finding the right buyer. If you are in a rush to sell it then you may need to drop your price. I do notice that there are surges in certain implements at certain times of the year. Usually the Fall and Spring are the best time for tractor implements in my area.

To tell you the truth, Dargo is correct on the trailer. I'm assuming your trailer is rated at 7000#. If the sides weren't integrated into the construction, the framing material would have to be much stronger to retain that 7000# rating. It's just a different type of construction. I don't believe he was saying you don't have a good trailer, I think he was just saying it's not necessarily "value added" because it does rails.

Really Danny, I'm sorry I offended you. However, I've been in and around the retail market for almost 25 years now. In particular the auto market, heavy equipment market, tractor market, the boating market as well as PWC and ATV markets. All I was trying to do was to give you points of reference as to market conditions. Really, I wish you luck in selling your equipment. It's just a fact that most people will not be interested at the prices you mention. Unfortunately, it is a fact that a person can buy a brand new trailer like yours for about $1500. For the most part, when someone buys something used, especially a few years old, they want to be able to buy it for a pretty good percentage less than what they would have to pay for a new one just like it. I know that it will only tick you off (based on your earlier reply to me), but to be totally honest, your trailer has a true wholesale value of about $700. Most people would become interested enough to look at it with a price of $1000 to $1200; depending on the person and their needs.

I know it won't help, but don't shoot the messenger; that really doesn't do any good. I never said anything to degrade you nor the quality of your equipment. I only stated actual market trends and actual new prices of what you have. I do some business with about 6 or 7 trailer dealers right now. In all honestly, your trailer is more suited for someone doing lawn service than someone wanting to haul a tractor and would be better marketed towards that type of crowd. Most of my trailer dealers sell the "car hauler" type of trailer to people with CUTs and sub CUTs rather than utility trailers. One reason is that many people will can put a rear mower or rear blade on a CUT that will not fit on a utility trailer with it's frame rails that extend above the deck. I only mentioned what I did because I am in this sort of business and, mistakenly, thought you may want some facts pertaining to current pricing trends of what you are considering selling. Again, sorry I offended you.

Even without that thread, it is tough selling a nearly new tractor when you can't give a warranty or special finance rates like they offer for new ones. The used tractor is 'worth' the price but when competing with the dealer incentives (financing, rebates & warranty) it makes it tough on anyone with a nearly new tractor to sell.

Ah for those that seem to want to pick on this, the fact that the OOPs thread is there is MY FAULT, not the tractors fault. I crossed the wires at the auxiliary power under the seat with my sprayer...........AGAIN NOT THE TRACTOR, and warranty would NOT COVER this anyway.
