Yes we are going to pay in the increased hidden tax via the tariff's.interesting . . . but ???
I guess we will have to keep the illegal aliens because we cant get people in the us to work.Tariffs may force some foreign countries to build factories here.
Take away the free money. They will go to work.I guess we will have to keep the illegal aliens because we cant get people in the us to work.
Actually in my opinion pay enough to get people off their ass then again do you want the lazy on their asses people to work for you , its a 2 edge sword (or in Bob's case foil)
Tarriff have two effects. One is to increase the cost for a foreign company to sell their products here, and yes that may increase the price.
However, it may also force foreign companies to make lower profits. Miking it more profitable for them to invest here in the USA.
And give American companies a chance to compete.
Does anyone remember Japan dumping steel priced below cost to neuter our world class steel mills. Jimmy Carter did nothing to protect our interests.
For the record, in its infancy, the USA funded its operational cost using tariffs. It sparked a lot of home-grown investments in manufacturing here. Made us great.
THIRD thing is it gives foreign companies incentive to build factories in the USA and employ American workers.
Don't forget the fourth effect of tariffs. Yes, it forces companies to build in the US but think about the other country . How does it affect their economy? If the only way you can make yourself great is by closing factories and crippling the economy of a neighboring country then imposing higher fees at the border to buy back the same product you forcefully took from them in the first place, maybe you're not so great. Just a bully on the block. And THAT, is why many people in the rest of the world have a hard time digesting US politics and bully tactics. Remember that the world is a big sandbox and everyone has to play nicely together.
After three terms of Obozo's "America Last" administrations: Fu*k the rest of the world. It's way past time we stop subsidizing our enemies and those who hate us.Don't forget the fourth effect of tariffs. Yes, it forces companies to build in the US but think about the other country . Not sure it’s what you want, but your view seems to be teetering on one world socialism. And that’s a no sale for me. Lots of people in the United States have their livelihood impacted by dumping of cheap steel by foreign countries, foreign countries dumping a glut of pulp on the paper market ect. most often the countries that we are competing against have zero labor safety or environmental policies that would drive their cost up, making it incredibly difficult to compete in a country driven by environmental law, labor law , unions, DOT and tons of bureaucratic and Insurance requirements/ restrictions . to the rest of the world. I say boo hoo until we fix a few problems here at home first.Don't forget the fourth effect of tariffs. Yes, it forces companies to build in the US but think about the other country .
