NOS bombardier tire

So, with the new to me SV252 i hauled home yesterday i recieved a new old stock 5.30X12 smooth faced tire with "bombardier" printed on the side.

Before I just toss it on the skidozer (I do have one bad tire on the machine) I wanted to ask if this tire is worth saving for someone's restoration project?

Because it doesn't matter to me if I have a bombardier tire on the machine or another brand, as long as the tire quality is the same I'll throw it on my machine.

I just want to know if someone out there is hunting for this tire for a restoration, thinking the "bombardier" tire might be worth more to someone else than it is to me.

If someone can tell me these are readily available and there is nothing special about the tire then I'll toss it on my machine and run it.

But I'd hate to toss it on and run it if it's something someone else has been looking really hard for.

I haven't looked for that size tire though I do have a Skidozer. You could find out by calling Prinoth. They have been very helpful to me as far as getting someone to go actually look at parts.

It's the right size for my skidozer, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something special being a bombardier tire (marked bombardier in raised black outline lettering in kind of a firestone looking script)

put it on machine they were good tires but probally 10 or more years old, I do not believe bombardier puts there name on tires but you may be able to find match at dealer, I bought some nos bombi tires 4 years ago, foam fill it and run it till the tread peels off

Hey for what it is worth, I think that is a hell of a neat thing to offer it up.

I have some Bombardier tires on my bombi and it felt wierd to just toss them to the side when I mounted the solid tires that came with it.

$.02 please.

Well, I'm a car guy really. Classics/hot rods etc.

I'm still learning the sno cat world but I recognize and appreciate the passion for concours type restorations be it a car, a tractor or a tracked machine.

So, I just didn't want to unknowingly toss a hard to find item into everyday use.

it would be like a kid tossing a set of new old stock halibrand wheels on his demo derby car because it's what he had handy.

lol!!

I put a set of red sidewall tires on my muscle car and found they were way too "squirrely" to drive, especially on gravel roads. Probably the Bomabardier tires would run just fine, though. Great that you thought of others.
