Non union crews turned away from helping in NJ

How could that be, Christie said he eliminated any red tape in order to get help in!

Sure shows who the union is concerned about, only themselves. :pat:
At a time like this, with so many in need of electricity actions such as this will not be forgotten.

How could that be, Christie said he eliminated any red tape in order to get help in!

O'Bummbo said to eliminate the red tape. Of course, he said nothing about keeping his beloved union base happy. Another lie from the Liar-In-Chief. I'm more pissed at the IBEW. I hope heads roll over this but I've been around long enough to know better than that.

Two sides to every story. The Union now says that they did not turn them away, it's just that they didn't need any help.

Let them sit in the dark (NY & NJ turn away non-union power workers)

Screw them all.

They can sit in the dark and beg for help because while they scream for aid, they turn away the aid that shows up in response to their pleas.

And folks wonder why this country is in the shape it is. Do you folks realize the workers from out of town are being paid by their own companies and NOT NY, NJ? The deal always has been that materials are billed to the power company with the problem and they all eat the wages. Works the same with the co-ops and private companies up here. Get the job done as fast as humanly possible. Squabble about who pays what later.:hammer:

Cristy should have put the crew with a national guard crew to work side by side and all the crew had to say to the we work safely a with diligence and respect for the citizens!

When in need one should not care who comes to the rescue. The ones being hurt are the ones in need.

Not according to unions. They don't give a flying fuck about anyone who is non-union. Kind of like their favorite political party, which is why they smooch each other's goobers.

I worked IBEWfor a lot of years.....was almost always proud to say so.....but in the years sence about 1996 0n I have been less proud and these last 4or 5 years it seems to be getting worse...and this epasode is shameful to say the least.......maby it has been that way all along and I just didnt see it....but it still sadens me to hear of these things happening!!!!!

It is my understand that just the opposite is true.

Once an area is declared a "Disaster Area", all companies that work on stuff in that area bill their services to the government and we, the taxpayers foot the bill.

Unfortunately, there's also a lot of abuse of that system. Since all of PA was declared a disaster area, there's companies milking the system all over the place and doing regular maintenance work but said it was needed due to the disaster.

Like a lot of people, when a group is in desperate need and turns away help offered due do ideology, I have a problem generating much sympathy.

Christie at least has allowed the National Guard to enter the state. Bloomberg has reportedly refused the help of both the National Guard and non union workers. But the marathon must go on.

OK.....now how dose this justify turning away help....just because they dont belong to the same Union or church or lodge or......whatever?????? Just wondering....please remember I was...and I guessalways be Union.......and one other point....reading the creeds of almost every union...you will find it says[ to lift up the living standard of ALL working men]

Sorry ki0ho, the primary function of a union is to bundle up your union dues and 'contribute' it to the Democrat Party. All else is secondary.

i dissagree i have been union and they were always ready to put me to work. yes i understand that they blow a lot of dough on political contrabutions. to the wrong party why i don't know the dem's arn't doing anything to stimulate job growth. on the other hand that shows a bit of coruption if you are going to ban non union help in times of emergancy. my guess is the local unions want their cut from the out of state workers comming to help.

Well....Kane and DDS....I fear you are both right in your thoughts!!!!!! It is a shame though......
May God Bless

I know i am probably going to get flamed here, but, I live in NJ (northern) and what I am reading is that they could not work in seaside as there are enough crews there. They went to long island and are working. I read that these crews recanted that story. One crew turned around in Virginia. I am not clear on that story. Anywho, that is what I read.

Andy

Well, any of them working this week are going to have hell to work in with the next storm coming north. Rain, wind and snow. Gusts off the ocean at 50-70 mph. They are supposed to stop working over 40 mph.

I took this fifteen minutes ago on Park Ave and 31st NYC.
