Welcome to the ForumsForums. Home of all obsolete, antique and fun snowcatting!

I collected manuals for all sorts of machines and digitized them, "teledawg" who is one of our other members actually posted them on his website and they are available for free download to anyone who is a member here.

Take a look here: http://www.goldcordmine.com/manuals/

You will find the exact manual you are looking for! :tiphat:

Thank you for the link on the manuals, I really appreciate the quick response. These will come in handy!

Thank you again!

Found IMP

imp1450.jpg

Hi Everyone- I just found this 1450 Super IMP, it needs a little work cleaning up, what do you think about it and what do you think it would be worth? It has not been run in about 10 years, was stored in a building except for the last 4 years.

My WAG for a Super Imp:

Poor condition..........8 to 12K Not running and needing extensive work

Fair condition..........10 to 16K Running needing some mechanical work, tracks okay, paint blemished, faded, interior needing cleaned

Good conditon.........14 to 22K Your average used snow cat

Excellent conditon....20 to 26K Med hours, tracks, mechnical, interior & paint good

Pristine condition......22 to 30K+ Low hours, excellent mechanical, interior, tracks & paint in great shape, looking sharp and ready to run for a least a year without repairs

Accessories such as blade, winch, multi-passenger (4 or more) cab, dual heaters, safety equipment such as roll bars, lighting and trailer all add value to a snow cat's base price...........................

Hours are not always a major factor as much as how the cat has been used and maintained over its lifetime. Below is just a base guide to try and judge hours depending on mechanical and appearance of the snow cat. A snow cat with high hours but in great conditon should not scare a buyer away. Sometimes low hour cats have low hours for a reason.

High hours are over 3000

Med hours are 500 to 2500

Low hours are under 500

My big question for you, is why has it not been run in 10 years??????

Repairs and parts for snow cats are very expensive. What ever you think it should cost without through research and checking prices is just a wild guess. Most people unfamiliar with snow cats will highly underestimate the total actual repair costs to put a cat into service and be able to trust it out 20 miles from nowhere.

Thanks for the quick repy Mtntopper, I really appreciate it. I think I will get this machine for under $1000 as it sits. I have another offer on 3 more and am waiting to hear back on these.

There are two DMC 1450 IMPs' and one LMC 1500 beartrack.

Thanks again for your help.

Sorry for not answering your question mtn topper ! Iguess the reason is the snocat was to slow and option two was a new polaris snowmobile I would prefer sno-cat myself each to his own?!thanks again for all your info will post more pics if i become proud owner of any of the four machines WAKEUPCALL

Shovanl, :-) I appreciate your concern in me buying this, I think I saw a spare lug nut in the box of spare parts on sno-cat, if I get it I will be sure to send it your way, afterall, I would not want you to have to call and ask for it as long distance calls are fairly costly.

Just got my Tucker 1342 and took it out for a day. Ran great and seemed to perform very well. Here are some pics.

No the super Imp is not in Wis. It is currently being held in an undisclosed location until I have it safely residing in my shop.

Guess I missed the one in WI, those super IMP are cool and am looking forward to getting this one to restore.

Thanks Cabinboy. We really enjoyed our day out in it. With all of the snow this year we were lucky to still have plenty of it to test it out in. :snow2_smi::snow2_smi:
