1959 Thiokol 4VL
Hi Folks, This is my first posting. I'm so happy to find this forum. I have soooooo many questions. But let me introduce myself. My name is Mark and I have a 1959 trackmaster 4vl. I'm slowly restoring the cat but it has taken a long time due to money and time. My wife thought I was the only one crazy enough to take on a project like this until I showed her this forum. My cat is running but more work needs to done. I going to take it up to the snow sometime in the new year. We have mountain property with no cabin yet east of Westpoint, Ca. There are 10 miles of unplowed road to get there. Some day I would like to build a place to go to. My wife, Pat thinks I put the cart before the horse. But I love to work on the cat and learn how it works. It's fascinating. I'll post pictures when they will let me. These old cats are really cool, aren't they?

Nikadog let me be the first to welcome you to the forum. That is if my ever so slow internet connection doesn't allow someone else first.

You have come to the right place. I am not a snow cat type guy or what is the other term someone called them things, oh yeah bathtub on tracks but there is many others here that you will do a lot of chatting with. They will want your experiences also. And tell your wife you don't have the cart in front of the horse.

Welcome
