New Yorkers turn over personal info, SS#, birthdays in exchange for "Obama Money"

People are IDIOTS.

Someone is running an identity theft scam and people, under the promise of getting some "Obama Money", are willingly turning over their personal information including addresses, birthdays and Social Security #s in exchange for a Debit Card that is supposedly pre-loaded with what is described as "Obama's Stimulus Money"

I heard this on the radio earlier today, here are a couple sources turned up by a quick Google Search:

. . . flocking to the Bronx, to E & M Multi-Services, a tax preparation service that operates out of the back of a “dollar store.” The outfit is allegedly collecting information from Social Security cards, state IDs, and more in exchange for a “free” debit card from First California Bank that is purportedly worth $1,000 in cash.

The only fly in the ointment, Opelka notes, is that the cards are not preloaded with funds in any amount. As reporters with WABC, the ABC affiliate in New York, ascertained, some of those who received the cards have already attempted—and failed—to extract cash.

The bank is now telling those who call that debit cards issued via E&M have been frozen pending a fraud investigation. . .

Obama Money

People are lining up in front of a Dollar Store in New York City for a debit card loaded with, ‘Obama Money’. Some guy running a ‘tax preparation’ service is allegedly collecting Social Security cards and other state-issues ID information in exchange for one of these First California Bank cards. (Yes. In NYC!) The debit cards are supposed to be loaded with up to $1000 in stimulus money according to news accounts. Aren’t Nu Yawkas supposed to be urbane and sophisticated? OBAMA MONEY. It’s a fraud, of course. . . .​

Will this change their vote for Obama in November? Probably not, cuz they're stupid already and will believe the last thing they hear before walking in the polling place.

Sadly, there are millions of people out there just like this that the likes of ACORN will drag to the polls next November. These people are not ignorant; they are just very stupid and (unfortunately) very impressionable ... just the type that David Axlerod will seek out. Being ignorant can be cured, but there is no fixing being ignorant.

My hope is that Carl Rove and the Republican super PAC's can educate a few of the ignorant folks prior to election day.
