Hmmm.... never seen one of those. Interesting.

How does it put power to the ground? I see the engine, but I don't see a track in the photo you just posted.

it uses a West Bend 820 2 stroke engine and a Comet centrifugal clutch. Then a reduction jackshaft to a multi spiked wheel that is lowered to the ice by a up/down lever. Steered by 2 ice rudders at the back end of the rails/skids and by leaning into turns. But not much clear, thick lake ice in McCall. Had it brought in from Michigan in the under belly of a Greyhound bus a few years back and hoping to get to it soon.

And the VW looking engine is actually a late 50s Porsche 1600 Industrial. A few carb, ignition and exhaust parts from one like that will be combined with a 1958 Porsche 1600S engine to allow its use in our 1958 Snow Trac. “A large ,warm and well lit shop makes all the difference”- thanks PP 2024
