New Years Resolutions

It's that time of year again. I have a couple of questions for you.

1. Did you make a New Years Resolution last year? If so, how did you do?

2. Do you plan to do one this year?

I think it is a time to start fresh and whether or not you made it last year, you still can try to better yourself in this new year. The primary rule should be to be fair to yourself. To think you'll loose those 30 pounds that you've spent 10 years gaining is not realistic. To plan to change your diet and loose 10 pounds by easter, 5 more by 4th of July would have a better chance at success. But, I'm curious, how do you handle your new years resolutions?

Yup, I'm going to lose some weight. At 5'11" and getting close to 200#, I really need to drop some weight. I'd love to get back down to 180# again.

I have a problem with New Years resolutions....about 5 years ago, I resolved to never make another New Years Resolution....so far, it's the only one I've ever actually kept.

I have a similar situation with Lent. About 10 years ago, I gave up religion for Lent, and now I can't go back. :pat:

Last year I resolved to:

1. To not piss anyone off! Obviously Failed !!
2. To not talk to my Ex Wife! Ok she won't ans ph:D
3. I could go on but #1 is already full!!;)

I need to quit my job and start working for myself. Of course, I'd have to work twice as hard then and spend less time hanging around with you misfits.:moon:

This year I want to gain some weight and try to be able to do 50 press-ups all in one go, can do 30 on a good day now, 20 easily, but that golden 50 would be sweet. Want to gain about 20lb.
Also to do more work and to make more money than I spend.

Not a damn one. Don't plan on changing anything in my ways of living. Have no need to quit anything or start anything or lose weight. I'm just shit happy to be where I am today and have two healthy kids in college and a nice wife.:beer::beer::coolshade:coolshade:coolshade

No, did'nt make any new years resolutions as "per say" this past year. I was over weight, out of shape and very disgusted with my self which prompted a "life style change" Yes I did have a number of pounds I did want to lose which I have achieved, got into shape and now the funny thing is now I have trouble keeping the weight on! Go figure

As for next year, again no resolutions but I do have a therory, you know how they say everything comes in 3's? well for the past 3 years everything in my life has not gone well at all.Guess you could say it has basicly sucked. From a serious illness, death, taxes, cars you name it, its happened. If anything could possibly go wrong it has. So I gladly bit fairwell to 2005!

(this is were the theory comes in)2006 is the begining of my 4th year. I am hell bent that things are going to turn around for me. Don't know how, or when but I just have that funny feeling that 2006 will be my year! Maybe woman intuition?

Hey WW. I like your attittude. Keep thinking positive and I'm sure 2006 will have you moving in the right direction.
Sure glad to see you found your way back here, and good to see you posting.
Glad we didn't scare you off with to much guy stuff.
Happy New Year! Hope you have a great one. Sure sounds like your due!!! :)

"I am hell bent that things are going to turn around for me."

You are the Architect of your own fate!! You have taken the first step! Repeat your own words over and over till you get to where you want to be!!!

I don't normally make annual resolutions, but going to this year.
1. Quit smoking, again!
2. Loose some weight.
3. Finish my "upnorth" house, I should have the time now.
4. Continue to improve my, "just maintain" attitude.
5. Improve my new ability to ignore shithouse lawyers and other unhappy people.:thumb:

The only "Real" resolution I've made for the last several years is to NOT make promises I can't keep. Our plates get full as it is without any real effort. The only control is to learn to say no when you Know you can't show!

Let's see here. Things can't be all that bad. You lost a lot of weight. I'm sure you feel much better about yourself now. Much healthier too. The rest can be taken care of later. Without health you have nothing.

Sh!t! I did it! I'm my own boss! I think I hate my new boss already! I'm killing time surfing bad videos (thanks Big Dog) for the last hour in my old office.

My new boss says I can't hang out here as much 'cause there's too much work to be done.

Let's hope it stays that way!

Congrats PB. Good luck with your new venture!!!!
