New transport for snowtracs

Ice Queen

Some of you will remember the Ford Iveco Cargo horsebox that I had for carrying my snowtrac or Jeep to rallies, unfortunately the poor old Cargo became rather rotten and had to be replaced. I have kept the box part and bought a Scania with hydraulic beaver tail, ramps and winch and have had this converted so that the box fits on and is still demountable. It was not a cheap conversion, but it does mean that I basically have two lorries in one. I think the pictures tell the story, but we only managed to get the blue sprayed on the lorry before I went to the big show in Kent this year - rain as usual prevented completion. The trailer on the back carried my Landrover and that is what I took to Kent, eight hours driving!! This Saturday, it was all the friends I could get together, and a big rush to get the masking on and the yellow lines sprayed on before the weather broke again. The only thing left to do is to put the horse motif on the sides, maybe tomorrow if the weather holds, but it is far too windy to do it today. Friday I am off to the Great Dorset Steam Fair and this year, the box is carrying the Willys Jeep.

Anita you have way too many toys!!!

Marcia gives me grief for the few that I have scattered around the yard.

The Scania looks to be a good bit newer and more modern than the Iveco/Ford. I thought you liked old toys.

Last picture, the finished article ready for Dorset, apart from the horse transfer on the sides. The colour change will have to be sorted later, it is because the box paint has 'bloomed' over the four years or so it has been sprayed.

Yep, I know I have too many toys, but may be I'll part with a few, if the right buyer comes along - they have to go to good homes!
