New Toy

Jim_S

Gone But Not Forgotten
I sold a 4' no name box blade and a 5' woods back blade when I bought my new tractor last October. I bought a 6' back blade with the tractor but didn't replace the box blade.

The new Woods GB72 was delivered this afternoon.

I already have implements of almost all colors of the rainbow. I was thinking of getting some of that Pepsi blue from Bob.

Now that's a mean looking heavy piece. I like my KK box blade. But yours looks like it is built much stronger.

I'll let you know how it works out. I'm famous for breaking things so we will see how long it lasts.

I have sites to prepare for a barn and run in shed along with building a gravel road.

The first thing that caught my eye was the corner bracing at the top rear corners. That makes for a much stiffer box. I could just add those onto mine to make it stiffer.

looks like that would be easy to do. Here's a closer view.

the gusset plate is @14 long and 3 at the back tapering to less than 1 at the front and appears to be 3/8 plate. The end panels are 3/8 and the back is doubled 1/4 plate.

Why thank you. Now I don't even have to think about doing it. It will be just a matter of slicing some steel and welding them in.

the only dimension I would watch is the length. I would come as close to the scarifer mounting plate as I could. The Woods is within 2 inches or so.

Woods has additional bracing from the top link mounting pin to the back of the blade too.

Please save the picture. You will NEVER see it this clean again

I saved them, thanks. I like the rear bracing also. That would be another simple task to modify on my KK.
