Nothing big, just been on backorder forever!!

Going to be used for work, however it might be able to use it around the house from time to time.

Not bad for WELL under $250 with a lifetime warranty.

That is a cool toy. Thought about getting one, but could never justify it, except as a cool toy.

It's a "sea snake", basically lets you see things in very tight spaces and around corners that could be impossible to see without it. Has a 2.5" camera screen and a waterproof camera head and cable.

By the way Bob, I like your description better.

Agreed, a little pricey, but for well under $250, for my line of work, it can prove invaluable and can save a lot of time as far as trouble shooting.

Heck, I don't work on cars, but I could see where it may prove useful for automotive work as well, as well as a lot of other lines of work.

I also LOVE RIGID tools. I have been very impressed with them so far. I know down the road they will be bought buy someone or they will just go cheaper and cheaper like Dewalt did. But for now I am impressed with them.

Personally, I think the big box stores is their demise. Price, price price, and sell lower than your compitition.

One reason why I love Stihl (sp?) and the fact that I've had no issues with their line.

As in their old advertising slogan "I love a RIDGID tool"? You sicko. :yum:

And, yes, they have been bought.

Didn't Home Depot buy Rigid a couple of years ago?

I could be wrong, my memory isn't what it used to be. :)

No, Home Depot just sells their stuff. Emerson Electric bought Ridgid. Dunno when.

Home Depot to sell Emerson tools

St. Louis Business Journal - August 28, 1998

Emerson Electric Co. has teamed up with Home Depot on a line of powertools for professionals, do-it-yourselfers and woodworking enthusiasts. Emerson's Ridgid line of saws and other tools will be sold at Home Depot's 690 U.S. and Canadian stores beginning next month.

Well I bought a Rigid worn drive skill saw. And it Kicks the shit out of the Skil. BUT that was 4 years ago. I have a 3/8 drill, jig saw and chop saw. All of which have been perfect. Hope they dont go down to soon. I want to pick up a few more items.

Is that thing waterproof enough to run down a drain in the house to look for a clog?? How long is the lead on it?

Honestly don't know how "waterproof" it is, and don't plan on using it for plumbing work (I'm using for visual inspection of other types of equipment). Come to think of it, I do need to open that instruction manual up:pat: However, Ridge Tool does make some of the best pipe threaders/cutters out there, and a lot of commercial "stuff" for plumbers as well that I don't mess with. They also make one of the best calanders in the industry:boobies: .

The "lead" on it is 3'. There are optional leads to make it longer as well.

The sales on this item have been so great that the manufacturer is running a 10 week lead time on all orders places. My original order for this item was placed in April, and if finally came in!

Give you an idea, I had 24 of these items come in this past Friday, have seven left, and three of them are spoken for guys picking them up next week. Ridge may have hit a home run with this new "inexpensive" product. For the price and the "lifetime" warranty, it's hard to beat.

I've thought of buying one and I have almost no need for one. They are very cool! How's the image quality? Can you move the head or does it just follow whatever path it is on? It would be cool if you could flex the head to weave it around obstacles.

Image quality is very good. Light on the end is bright, but would like it to be brighter. No, you cannot mover the head. The cable is flexible that will hold it's contour to the shape you bend it.

Had it up up in the attic, and I was overall happy with it.

Sort of like spending $500 on a pressure washer. Guess it depends on how many times you might use it and if you have a regular "need" for it, or if you do have a need for it, will it save you time and money.

In some service/mechanical related industries, I can honestly see a use for it. Around the house? Not sure, then again, we've all spent money on things we really didn't need, but... price out a standard sea snake with video monitor, and you'll see what sticker shock means.

Cool Tool DZ!!! :thumb:
I want one, but don't need one ....when I need it I won't want to wait 10 weeks for it ....so I should order one now, so I have it when I need it. Yeah, thats the ticket. :D
