Hey everybody, love the forum so thought I would join. The pictures of all the bombardiers are awsome, there are definitely some passionate people here. I hope to learn what I can from you folks and hopefully post pics and share some weekend stories.
About me: Currently living in Northwestern Ontario originally from the far north of Manitoba, spent many hours in bombers all over the Churchill area, shovelled them out, jacked them up, worked on them a bit......wasnt until now do I own my own!
I just bought a 71 wide gauge with a 351 ford which I want to say is an R15 or R18 machine. Mechanically it's all good, but currently getting doors re skinned, new windows and fresh paint. Picture attached.
The pictures of the blue narrow gauge is a 50's something machine, it's the father in laws and spends it's time on clearwater lake in the Pas Manitoba.
So that's a start... keep the pictures coming!

Welcome to the Forums!

I love the Bombardier units. I'd love a C7.

Welcome to this forum !

I'll be looking forward to more pictures. Those machines are very cool.

Welcome to FF. I see you & your father in law are into the bombers. I have a 1947 B12 that I am slowly restoring. If you need any parts for the machines, Shavers & Sons, in Stonewall,MB. (Winnipeg area) has them. He manufactures parts on site.
I'm not sure of the phone #, but it's in the book or information will have it. I am a member of northerntracks.com They are in northern Manitoba. Anything you want to know about the bombers, you'll find there.

The Old Trucker

Thank you much everybody! We have infact used shaver for a source of information and parts.
Does anybody know where there might be another machine for sale? Dont care if it's narrow or wide, or the year, just looking for another project to tackle.
Have a great day.
Mike

If you look at the for sale section on northerntracks.com you should find lots in various conditions. I think a member here, i think his name is groomerguy posted three for sale around Geraldton, ON. awhile back. Are you looking for a woody frame or metal ?? This B12 frame is complete. I think it is in Manitoba. Not sure what he wants for it...
I believe if your father in law drove around the Pas & surrounding areas you will find more projects than you can handle.

Actually, I do know of three but I have talked to the owner and at this time he's not interested in selling as he has a couple more operational units and keeps the non running ones as parts machines. Two of them look like they could be made operational again.

BTW...welcome to the group. Nice to see another Canuck on here from my neck of the woods. I have a buddy who flies(or did up until a month ago) out of Red Lake. He flew a twin otter.

I did see those three machines a while ago they looked pretty good. That's more they type of project I'm looking for.
So do you know what lodge or outfitter your buddy flew for?

Not sure which outfit he flew for. I'll have to ask him next time I talk to him.

These the machines you were thinking of? As far as I know, the owner still isn't willing to sell.

ya thats them....if i remember right you said the middle grey and red one still ran? i thought the orange one could be a good snag! Where are they located?

Doesn't it suck when an owner won't sell, but rather let something rot into the ground? Many a great snorunner, antique radio/tv or classic auto has fell victim to these folks. Oh well, not much you can do, unfortunatley...

ya sure does, especially with these type of machines not being made anymore. oh well maybe they have future plans for them.......
I also think there's people with machines in the back yard that have no idea they can sell them for a decent buck to people interested in fixing them up.....lots of folks out there not on computers and have no idea of the demand!

Exactly. This is the battle I face as an antique radio and TV collector. You have the folks who would rather throw that Zenith Porthole, Philco Predicta or '41 Crosley out into the garbage than try to sell it because they have no idea. That is why I keep my eyes open every garbage day. Unfortunatley you can't just watch for a Sno-mo-doodle on the curb.

That's what the owner informed me when I talked to him a couple years ago. They are in Beardmore...about an hour drive from where I live(two hours north east of Thunder Bay on hwy 11). Personally, I think those things will end up rotting into the ground before something happens with them. It's a shame the owner doesn't want to part with them. No sense getting new pictures of them. I think the only thing new around them is that the trees have grown a few inches since those pictures were taken....lol

I assumed the pictures were recent...I wonder if in the past few years he would have changed his mind?
Might need to take a chainsaw there now to cut them out..

I took those pictures 3-4 years ago. I'll do some digging and see what info I can come up with. I'm heading that way in a couple weeks and will be driving right by them.

Even Colorado has a couple Bombardier coachs,Thought You might want to see them, Thinking about selling one of them also have a Bombardier to Ford tractor conversion like they used in the Antarctic and it is for sale.here are some pictures.

Thanks, We've had them for a long time, use to groomer trail on the grand mesa here in colo. with other Machines Tucker and Thiokol and sell parts, but that was 20 years ago, so this is just left overs, so keep us in mind if you need something we might have it had lots of variuos parts just slow digging them out. Tucker, thiokol, mostly 400 and 500 serios steel track tucker, 1200 thiokol, some 2100 parts and some rubber track parts and some coach parts, also have a couple blades and one rear groomer.
