New Tine Rake for my Kioti

BigAl

Gone But Not Forgotten
I been wrestling with what width Tine Rake I want for my Kioti DK45 . I had just about settled on a 7' so I had plenty of angle to windrow and still keep it to the outside of the rear tires ,but now I am thinking a 8 footer to get the tires a ways from the trees and do a better job . Pros and Cons??? I got a ton of land to rake from falling Pine Tree limbs at the ranch in Idaho .

I use a 6' rake on a much smaller tractor, I'd go with the 8' rake for your tractor.

Thanks for the input ,guys . I was kinda thinkin I would end up going to the bigger 8 foot rake .Now I just need to find one at a decent price .

Yea, hope you got deep pockets. And full, if your going new. The only reason I'd go with the smaller is if you have a lot of obstacles to maneuver around. If it's all open, you won't be sorry for the wider one.

Well I got one yesterday ! I really wanted a 8 footer , but no one on the West coast seemed to have one at a decent price . I ended up with a 7 footer from TSC for $469 and if I had bought another implement the manage told me he would give me 10% more off the whole package . I just could not find anything else I needed . I think that rounds out my needed implements that I may ever need for my tractor . Thanks for all the input :thumb:

AL, if you're a real tractor guy, you'll surly find something else you 'need'. Just give it some time. Soon as the new wears off,....:thumb:

Yea ... I know what you mean . I did look hard at the 6' rototiller 3PH but I would not use one enough to warrent having one .
I was designing and working on a new home built front "bucket mounted tree shear" to cut down 6"-8" Pine trees . but I found I can just push them right over with the old DK45 4x4 tractor .I have the tires loaded front and rear and that old rig just really works well . The nice part is 95% of the time the stump comes out with them .

sportsmans guide has this new "brush grabber" for small stuff up to 3" diameter - but the idea looks easy enough to upgrade to a 6"er...
