I got the machine all back together and parked it for two days. I remove the cowel to find a nice nest on the head. I remove the nest and continue on. The next day I come back and find the nest is completely reconstructed! Again, I remove the nest and then.... I start the cat. Fur went flying everywhere! I guess the rodent thought it a good idea to hide down by the fan. Needless to say, he won't be bothering me anymore!

I suffered a similar issue with my 1996 JEEP in our Ozark property. every weekend I would find a rat nest on top of the engine. So I would clear it and then use the car. Only to find the nest rebuilt the following weekend. This happened three or four times so, one weekend I just started the engine.

In my case, the rodent got out safely.
The next weekend there was a hole eaten in my rear left tire.
And a nest

The next week end she ate my brake lines.

One smart rodent.

So, I put out poison. I hate to do that in the woods but the following weekend there was a dead rat in the engine bay.
