New From Tennessee And Loving Life:):)

I just wanted to stop by to introduce myself. Hopefully I can contribute to many threads here and also learn some more:)

My husband and I live Off Grid in a home we built almost 5 years ago. We travel in our class B and spend the winters in Florida. I love to build, remodel, rv, read, cook, garden, playing with my pug, and shooting pool with my DH. I have also just started blogging. I figured if I didn't get our life written somewhere no one would believe how crazy we are, lol.

Have a great day and I hope to stop in and chat often.

Hi ylisa7. Welcome to Forums forums land. Off the grid ehh. Interesting. Look forward to hearing more about how you made the break.
Enjoy and post often. :thumb: :D

Yep, I love to shoot pool. That is quite a page on your blog showing how you set yours up. Very Kewl. Looks recent also. Nice table you got. :thumb:

We have an old Brunswick table. A guy at a place I used to work was retiring and said damn if he would move that table again. He sold it to me for $200. What a deal. Has to be the best deal I've ever gotten. It is 1 inch slate also. Each piece of slate and the bed have a Brunswick serial number and they all match. At one time we suspect the table was in a pool hall and it has some marks to show that. Gives it character in my eyes. We have the standard green felt on it now but we are about due to recover. Might go wild and pick another color but I wouldn't bet on it. Green fits. My brother has a nice table, he covered it in red. Goes great with his game room. We play at both places. Usually 8 ball or 9 ball. On occasion we'll play rotation or Philadelphia. The 101 game looks interesting. Like rotation though it is a lot of adding, keeping track. To even things up when just the wife and I are playing we go for 8 ball and she gets 3 shots to my one. A handicap of sorts. Works for us.

Welcome. Living off grid, lots of people here would like to hear of your experiences. Me for one. The idea intrigues me.

Welcome,

You could not have picked a finer bunch of no accounts upon which to engage in conversations.

Another hillbilly? You have to be here a while before we let you know where the beer tap and shine are.:whistling:

Yes our game you have to keep track. Well I keep track...hubby is pretty oblivious...he just wants to shoot, lol.

It is very cool. My husband designed our system with no prior knowledge. Our whole story has been like a living lab. We made mistakes but learned a lot. We now have new solar panels and we are waiting for the weather to break so we can get out newest and hopefully our last system installed:)

You can go to our blog and start at chapter one for our whole story. we are still learning and adding chapters, lol.

Good to know, lol. My blog has every chapter but my Dh and I have big plans for this spring:)

LOL...I'm a half back. Born and raised in NY. Moved to FL and then decided to make TN my home. I know some shine places over the border:brows:

Thanks for the link ylisa7, I'll check it out. I think that many on here will find it interesting as many of us live out in the country. As you know, living in the country more or less forces you to be a prepper in some fashion and we have the full range on here from me at one one end to zoomer, who has his own missile silo, at the other end. It's an interesting mix of people and philosophies. Your new solar system would be interesting to hear about as it's the culmination of an evolutionary process. Several of us have toyed with the idea over the years and some actually have auxiliary systems.

Stick around. I think we can all enjoy your input.

We have other off grid members. Curious if you use solar panels or some other type of off grid power generation?

That is cool to know. I love living in the country. I do believe that most of my TN neighbors are better prepared then my NY family counterparts:)

Howdy nice to meet you

Thank you.

We have solar panels and just two small wind turbines. The solar panels produce about 95% of our electric. Right no my husband and I are redoing our system...although this winter has not been a good working weather..Grr!!!
