Sold my Polaris 900S RZR early Summer and now that the Mule has the plow on I started looking for a trail rig again for Winter in the Woods. I used to just take the plow off when I check gas well charts and trail riding but since disabled from meningitis, that task isn’t easy anymore. Searched them all and ended up with this General. Boy, oh boy, this thing is setup pretty nice and I couldn’t resist. It’s not a Northstar but the previous owner sunk a bunch into accessories. Rides significantly better than the RZR, the suspension is amazing!

Nice. And you have a closed cab with it. You'll like it in the winter especially. I bet that thing is FAST. I rented a 900 in Utah a few years ago and it had plenty of zip. I'm sure the 1000 is even zippier.

To be honest and my first impression was the 900 was zippier, quick to break tread out of the hole. Gotta be honest I haven’t “sent it” as aggressive as the RZR as of yet. I’m sure it’s there but I can say it gets to 60 quick and ride is a whole lot more “secure”.

60 is the max I'd want to go in these side by sides. I get to 50 in my Honda Pioneer 1000 and I will hang there. That's fast enough.. Things get squerly fast above 55.

Very nice machine . One thing I find a lot better with the wife's Ranger is the ease of getting into it , when compared with my sons Razor . Not so bad on a long ride ,but a pain when your constantly getting in and out doing stuff around the farm.

This is exactly why I ended up with a utility sxs. I like bucket seats but found that every rzr style sxs no matter what brand, it felt like I had to fold myself into it and my knees were touching the dashboard. My buddy just picked up a used '21 rzr xp1000 4 seater. Beautiful machine but I sat in it and felt my knees touching the dashboard with very little wiggle room. All these manufacturers must take a 5'5" chinaman and build their machines around that.

They are nice machines. I like the full cab enclosure on yours. Here's the one my buddy bought a couple weeks ago. The thing has 32" tires.

It's nice but HUGE compared to my sxs. I prefer the more utility style with a dump box as I use mine all the time for yard work and getting firewood. I leave the chainsaw in the back along with a can of gas whenever I go anywhere.

You are correct, the are built for guys like Jeff Gordon and I’m 2 1/2 times his size. They have to be modified for a guy my size and I just finished the General with a lowering/lean seat bracket and a D-shaped 12.5” steering wheel, did the same with the RZR. The Mule is roomy, comfortable, and an easy rider!
