need a good web site for dog treats/chews

Well I went into the local pet food center a moth and a half ago for bird seed and came out with this. Little Dora. The neighboring pound had about 10 hounds there. Of course one dogs catches my eye. Went over to say hi and the lady running the place wanted to know if I would like to "see" the dog. I tell her no thank you, that I have 3 dogs already and I really cannot afford another one. Then she proceeds to tell me that they are in desperate need of foster homes. These dogs live in a fun 24/7 no heat or ac and on concrete. The only time they get out is on Sundays or to go to the vet. How do you say no to that?
I told her that I could foster (they pay for all vet bills I pay for food and treats, chewies) Needless to say Dora had heart worms and really could not start treatment until she found a forever home or a foster home.
She came home with me that day. After eight weeks of heart worm meds, etc she is cleared of the heart worms. She also found a forever home with a nice couple in the neighboring state! Glad for her but admit it was tuff giving her up!
Now I have two dogs that I am fostering! Both beagles, One is so overweight it is painful to wath her walk! But we are working on that.

So my question is does anybody know of any web site that has fairly decent prices on rawhides, chewies and treats? I would grealy appreciate it.

WW...get on line and look up dog treat resapes and bake your own...we find it to be a lot cheeper...and our dog seems to like them a lot better than the store bought ones......:tiphat:

I had to wait until they sent me an email as I could not remember the name of the site. I've bought from these guys a couple times. Once for Frontline, can't remember the other item we bought from them. Prices seemed fair and quick shipping.

Ki0ho, do you have any recipes that have worked for you? I've heard good and bad about them, but would prefer to try a TNT (Tried and True) type of recipe that your dogs like and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Doc Mom said that as soon as she gets a moment she will look it up and Ill get it to ya...Jerry

Doc and Working woman......our dogs like the peanut butter treats ....;.2-cups wholewheat flour....1-tbsp. backing powder......1-cup peanut butter chunky....1-cup milk......

in a bowl, combine flower and baking powder, in another bowl combine peanut butter and milk then mix in dry ingredients and blend well.[hell I would just mix it in one bowel and not have to wash two bowels!!!!]Place dough on lightly flowered surface, and knead.....Roll dough to 1/4 inch and use cookie cutter to cut out...bake for 20 min at 375 on greased cookie sheet or until light brown...cool and store in air tight container.........she got it at www.Bullwrinkle.com they have buntches of dog treat recipes and by the way one of our grandsons liked them to..........HEHE.....I saw no reason to tell him they were for the dog....he had already eaten a whole hand full!!!! His only gripe was that they were kind of small cookies!!!!:whistling: Hope this helps ya
