My parents had two chiwauwa's. At thanksgiving, one had to be put down due to a collapsed trachial tube. They were devastated. They found another long haired chiwauwa a few weeks later. Last week. They decided to get a third one. They brought Rags home on saturday while I was down there visiting for the weekend. I got back to their place late saturday night so I didn't even get to see what the new addition to the family looked like. I was woken up early sunday morning to my dad running back in the house in a panic. Rags had slipped out of his harness and took off like a lightning bolt. Needless to say we spent the day sunday driving around looking for the little guy. We never found him.
My parents informed the local shelters and posted the standard "missing dog" ads all around their neighborhood. Their neighborhood has lots of fox and wolves. The temp here dropped down to -30C for a couple nights. What are the chances they'd ever see their little buddy again?
This afternoon, a truck pulled into their yard with a special delivery. Someone had found Rags on their deck earlier today and called the shelter to come catch him as he is a VERY scared little guy. After 3 days outside with no food at -30C temps at night in a foot of snow, Rags is home!!!
