We have one of those too! Sits on the window ledge looking at the window then jumps into the window. Over and over and over and over again!!!

Just curious, is yours a west facing window? We only have birds that seem to be attracted to our west facing windows.

I put out some bird seed and got this great closeup

They go after their own reflections in the windows. Funny to watch sometimes.

And damned annoying!!!! The blue jays get into the act too. I don't know if they are territorial but one bird just seems to attack one or two windows while his "buddy" is around the other side of the house attacking an other.

Do ya think the two crows from the window cleaner commercial are sitting on the power line laughing their butts off.

One thing is for certain, THAT Cardinal has faith....

I had a couple cardinals that did the same. Mine was on an East window. Besides the noise being aggravating, every time it would whack itself against the window, it had a need to poop within a couple seconds. Since it's launching point was my grill, I had bird crap on the window and grill cover all the time.
