So right after the 2023 international snow cat clowder ( largest snow cat gathering in the nation [jk] ) I was sent a listing for a snow cat that seemed sort of sketchy. Southern AZ, Pristine condition, AS is, Where is, No reserve......

It took me for------ever...... to find the details of the sale. I figured I would share the adventure with you to confirm the fact that good examples of our wonderful hobby are out hiding in the open.

Watch for the machine to pop up in the future. but rest assured they are out there and not all sellers are flippers.

"Pristine" is more than a stretch
Body has very few dents/issues and frame looks solid so far. Track belting and tires are totally dry rotted and drive sprockets are almost smooth. Other than front bucket seats the rest of interior is gone. All rubber on glass is disintegrating and several of the windows are cracked or shot with BB's. Starter spins but solenoid wont kick out and engage motor. Fuel is junk and all fuel lines have been destroyed by ethanol. The drivetrain looks complete and I have no concerns about getting it running. No idea on condition of clutch and transmission but the shifter is SUPER sloppy. It did steer when I was dragging it up onto the trailer so that's nice I suppose (y)
As far as 3rd gear? were you referencing some info about the trans being stuck in 3rd or joking about getting it up to a Ludacris speed? Trans slipped out of gear no issue and parking brake was not seized so I was able to winch it onto my trailer without a problem. Have not tried to put it back into gear so.....
I will get it running to see what condition everything is in then who knows. I got rid of my 201 Spryte and replaced it with a 1450 Super IMP a few years back because for a 6'5" 300lb+ guy it was cramped, hard to get in/out and difficult to pack extra people/gear onto. I like my 1450 but I miss the manual transmission and its also only a single cab so extra gear/people is still a problem I do have a 1201 Spryte with the 5 man cab but its automatic as well. We will see. It is a little harder to get into than the IMP but very roomy once inside. Cant understand why they made the door do small?
