Although I DO NOT support any defamation of our flag, I like this one!

I agree, but, I think the proper disposal of a worn , dilapidated flag is by burning.

That's not to say those idiots in the middle east have earned the right to do. As far as I'm concerned, they don't have THAT freedom of speech.

You are correct. It must be done by an VFW post in a ceremony to be legal though. I hate when I see a torn, discolored, or mutilated flag flying. If I am in the store doing this, I will every time bring it up to the mgnt of the place, reminding them that they have a responsibility to the flag if they are going to fly it.

MOST DONT REALIZE THIS AT THE TIME!

How many know the proper way to mast a flag up a pole at half mast?

I don't believe that you are correct in saying that only a VFW can burn a flag. I found more information about flag burning on the web than I care to read, but this site appears to be the most informative. The site owner gives all the legal cases for his opinions. Junk.....

More there than I care to read Junkman.
This same issue is of hot topic here too. Unlike the American flag ours is quite offensive to some (just ask an aboriginal) in that it displays the Union Jack (sorry Mith). We are not as patriotic here as you folks, however it is a democratic right and it is a peaceful protest. My preferred action is to simply cut out the Union Jack.

Oh Oh, pick me, pick me. I do. I did the Colors in the Marines for awhile. Not the "8th and I", but for our base.

I'm sorry I got this thread off the original intent of Humor. Seems flag burning is a hot topic for a lot of us.
The Maxine cartoons are cool.
Thank you WW.:a1:
