Mom's kiss ............

Most of the regular members know my Mom passed from Leukemia. At the time, there was nothing more she wanted than to see her first great grandchild born. The big guy high up didn't see it that way, she was just too sick to make it. She chose when (last weekend in October 2011) and where she was (at her home) to pass.

She came home to everyone on October 27th, with a fresh transfusion and loaded with anti-biotics, there would be no more meds but opiates. She had a great 24 hours, ate well, had some fun with friends, and of course a heart to heart with family. During the heart to heart she kissed my daughter-in-laws belly, Tosh my DIL was 7 months into Mom's great grand daughters pregnancy.

40 hours after coming home my Mom passed in the late evening on October 28th and it began to snow, and snow, and snow. We got 6 inches of snow that day, odd for that time of year. The day we set her to rest there was no snow and it was sunny and 75F.

When Maddie was born she didn't have much hair but what was evident was a heart shape patch of very blonde hair on the back of her head. Tosh has always said that's where grammy gave Maddie a kiss. It has become much more prominent since her hair is starting to grow out some. My son, Tosh, and Maddie just made it to the outer banks for vacation and Tosh took some photo's this morning. One photo prompted this post ........... it's the one that shows Mom's kiss!
