Mom in hospital

I would like to make a prayer request for my Mom. She is 81 yo, and has been in declining health after my Dad passed away in Dec 04, after almost 60 years of being happily married. Her Alzheimer's is progressing faster, & the dementia is getting pretty bad, also. We put her in the hospital yesterday for the third time in the past year, this is the second time with pneumonia. Some-one has to be with her 24/7, especially in the hospital. I have 1 brother, who is in the hospital right now, his kidneys have shut down, (I personally believe from his tour in Vietnam and over 30 years as a firefighter, snorting all the poisonous smoke mostly caused this), and he also has other serious health issues. I also have 3 sisters, but for one reason or the other during the week it seems to fall to my self and American Woman to take care of Mom. (I can NOT tell you how much American Woman does for me & my Mom, taking better care of her than I can.) This is a BIG stress on us both, shuffling the 2 boys, and one of us in the hospital with Mom. Yea, I could go on and on, but you get the picture, so I am asking for a couple of prayers on behalf of Mom and American Woman, (OK, my self also).
THANK YOU ALL, just for letting me unload some.

You got it buddy!!!!! :thumb: You are all in my prayers.
Best of luck with the whole situation.

Prayers are on the way!!!!....:thumb:

My wife and I both can appreciate your circumstance. This is on that list of things you don't wish on anyone. Continued strength and compassion!

I will be thinking of you and your wife today and jotting little prayers. Tonight my wife and I together will pray for your whole family.

Positive note, it sounds like you got yourself one great women that is there to help you out.

Best wishes.

Hey, Redneck, thoughts and prayers from this quarter, too, for you, AW, your mom, et al. If you need to unload again, just go ahead here.

It's tough to find the right words at a time like this . So I'll just say that You,and Your Family will be in My thoughts ,and prayers .
All the best , John

A parent is a very special person, and it is difficult to see them suffer. You and your extended family are in my prayers..... Junk..

Thanks, friends, for all the kind words & Prayers. I'll keep y'all posted as we know something. Right now we have about 3 or 4 Doc.s working on Mom, they are to get together with their notes & figure a game plan.

Brought my brother home from Bay Pines V.A. Hospital tonight, but his legs are still swollen enough they are oozing. He is to return tomorrow for more dialysis, about an 80 mile trip each way. Thank goodness, they are to send a driver for him. He is taking his illness hard, he has always been the strong one, the one helping others. At 58 yo, and not strong enough to climb up in his 3/4 ton pu, (no, no lift kit, just stock hight) it's really hard for him. Yes, seeing him like this is real hard for me, too.

Man, you have no idea how great a woman I have. I couldn't make it without her.:halo:

UPDATE....... Good news..the Doc says he expects to send Mom home Tues. All the cultures came back NEG.- they were making sure there was no "MARCA"(sp?)..(the really BAD staff infection),cancer, or if it was for sure pnemonia. They are planing to send her home with anti-biotics in a pill.
Again, THANKS for all the prayers and well-wishes.

ouch.
not a fun time you're having.
prayers will continue.
MRSA is no fun to treat - it's an antibiotic resistant staff infection that's pretty contagious, so I'm really glad it wasn't that.
alzheimer's is no picnic to deal with in a family member.
and hopefully your brother's kidneys will kick start themselves back up after only a short time on dialysis.

good luck to all of you.

Thanks, Erik. Mom had MRSA several months ago, along with the pnemonia. That's what scared them. And the anti-botic for it, $$$$$:4_11_9:$$$ It put her in the "Part D doughnut hole" big time, spent a small fortune last year on RX thanks to MRSA.

I brought her back home today and she is a lot better health wise....just a little more confused......
Thankyou for for all you thoughts and prayers

Continued thoughts and prayers for you and your family. I'm happy Mom's back home and feeling better.
