Melting glaciers in northern Italy reveal corpses of WW1 soldiers

The glaciers of the Italian Alps are slowly melting to reveal horrors from the Great War, preserved for nearly a century

I am working on a project, with the help of historians teachers, for seeking military monuments in my area of West Macedonia. In the past there was a huge resort battles in lowland and mountain warfare areas, from the late 19th century until the end of World War II, and also the Creek Civil War between 1945 - 1947. The Historical record contains - include the military burial monuments, the trenches, areas of special strategic interest , battlefields, camps opponents etc.
I am not a historian, but i like so much the history, (global or topic) the culture (I am artist), and the social political behaviors between the countries in the area - neighborhood.

I believe these latter samples, that come to the light, are because of the effects of global warming, and they should not shock us. These are the results of the events in the very recent history between nations. What will surprise us, one day, (When they decide to presented to us - After 50 years), will be the revelations of great civilizations that are buried beneath the ice.
The advantage of ice is that it retains the characteristics of excavations (Human - mammals - and constructions) as the pressure exerted on these bodies, in combination with the temperature that develops, is very high.
The Biggest problem is the light, the sun, Nobody can hide something in the sun, because there are too many shadows.

Im not another Al Gore's warning guru. let's talk about "Climate Change"
I think is better.
Why Obama has to move to regulate carbon pollution. His proposition says Cutting Power carbon Plant Emissions by 30% by 2030.
But this is another story, it has nothing to do with the Climate Change

Regards Nikos

climate change is unavoidable the geologic history has recorded this in the past and it will happen again. I know of places in Alaska that tropical fossels can be found and are now covered in ice. even though the effects of constant warming can be seen and still seem to be happening my contact with nasa says we are headed forglobal cooling soon. to think we can control the climate is bs

No insult was intended but you used the term Global Warming and that spot on my brake peddle is worn thin.
obama just wants to cause harm to this country. He could care less about the environment.

I know that's why i tell before, this is another story, and it has nothing to do with the environment policy.
Beside the cost of our lives is very high in our days. Probably this movement has to do with the geopolitical issues, or other commercial - economic issues of energy, between the two nations, U.S.A. and Russia.
I think the next years, not only the crossing experience of the Bering Strait (Alaska - Siberia 50 or 60 miles thru the two islands ) it will be a reality, but with the plans to built long pipe line to link Alaska, to supply U.S. with natural gas, the prince of Nome, has the opportunity of his life. Maybe Lyndon has better informations about these issues.

Don too many miles with the ST4 in front of you. Think about it.

the gas line is dead, it's just going to north to south to an ice free port gas will be liquefied and than shipped out on a tanker for sale through out the pacific rim. this way community's on the rail belt will have some access to cheap gas while the rest of ak has to use fuel oil at 6 to 9 bucks a gallon. kind of like the state subsided Alaska fairy that only served south east. ok off my soap box I did talk with a film crew interested in doing a crossing of the bering straits from Russia to wales
