Mat under chair?

OK, for everyone that has an office chair on carpet, what do you have under your chair so you can wheel around?

Although it was the best one Staples offered, the plastic mat I have cracks. It is sitting on carpet which I'm sure is the culprit.

Has anyone found a decent mat or something that can handle the carpet issue? Hate to put plywood or something down for esthetic reasons.

Rubbermaid has a plastic floor mat that comes with a guarantee. Mine is several years old. No cracks. They last for at least 5 years. The better ones cost more up front, they last MUCH longer and end up cheaper to own over time.

I believe that's what I purchased.

Rubbermaid mat

After time, it settled and the carpet has sunken in a circle where my wheels normally sit. Where this depression occured, the mat is cracking.

You are on carpet, correct?

Yup, I'm on carpet. We probably have 20 of the Rubbermaid mats now, all protecting carpet. We used to buy mats on a regular basis, but I think it has probably been several years since we bought the last one.

My mat has a sticker on it. The number on the sticker is 2372. There is another smaller number 0180775 printed under it. I presume one of those is a model number?

BTW, the link you provided takes me to a page that asks for my zip code to find a Staples store but does not show me the mat you have.

I checked and Matt is not under my chair....actually, he is nowhere to be found. I can try to get ahold of him if you want, if it is really important.

Dave, check with Art. Art may know where Matt is. Last time I saw Art, he was hanging around. Otherwise check with Bob. You know the guy with no arms, no legs but who floats around in the pool.
