Various reports, this below is from ZeroHedge. Lots of video on X. Establishment media is also covering the story.

Massive Fire Engulfs Atlanta-Area Chemical Plant, Evacuations Underway

A massive fire broke out at a chemical plant in Conyers, Georgia, prompting local area evacuations and road closures. Footage of the blaze shared on X might remind some of the train derailment fire in East Palestine, Ohio, early last year.
The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office said the fire occurred at BioLab, a chemical plant that makes specialty pool and spa care products. They told residents near the plant to stay indoors and keep windows closed to minimize exposure to harmful chemicals, adding, "Safety measures are in place to protect the public."
Earlier, officials said the sprinkler system malfunctioned, and water came in contact with a reactive chemical, sparking the fire. Shortly after, officials called for evacuations of residential homes around the facility.
However, officials did not mention what chemicals were burning. EPA staff have been sent to the town for air sampling.
Given BioLab's product line, as shown on its website, there's reason to suspect the plumes of dark smoke are toxic.
Local media outlet Channel 2′s Michele Newell reported that white smoke was visible from the plant, turning black and then orange.

That smoke plume looks a lot like the stuff coming up in Lebanon lately.

I see the "fallout" (pun intended) being similar to the East Palestine OH trail derailment. :(

Colossal chemical plant fire in Georgia prompts evacuation of 17,000 people

The shelter-in-place order for Rockdale County was extended indefinitely, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The chemical reaction resulting from a fire consumed a BioLab facility, with pictures and videos showing a massive plume of smoke billowing out of the site.
“In the best interest and safety of the public and all citizens, it is recommended that businesses close operations until shelter-in-place is lifted,” county officials said in a news release.
The order was given after air-quality surveys were taken by the Environmental Protection Agency and Georgia Environmental Protection Division.
The surveys “revealed the harmful irritant chlorine, which was detected in the air emitting from the incident location of BioLab. For everyone sheltering in place, the best practice is to turn the air conditioning off and keep windows and doors shut,” officials said. The National Institutes of Health lists symptoms of chlorine poisoning as “violent cough, nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, headache, chest pain, abdominal discomfort, and corneal burns.”
The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office echoed the urge to stay indoors.
“Our team is on the scene, working with first responders and local authorities to assess and contain the situation,” a BioLab spokesman told 11Alive.
Though the explosion is the worst to have occurred at the plant, the fire that caused it is the third such instance in seven years. The last fire, in 2020, was the result of heavy wind and rain from Hurricane Laura causing rainwater to seep into the warehouse, reacting with a chemical and causing a fire. BioLab’s website describes itself as the “swimming pool and spa water care division of KIK Consumer Products.”. . .

Three fires in seven years! You’d think someone would maybe start to re-evaluate how they are doing things. If my house caught on fire once, I’d rectify what caused it, a second time I’d completely revamp how my house works, a third time it would just simply be because of my own stupidity.

It happened near us 25 years ago

HANOVER TWP., Pa. – For some, it's hard to believe, but it's been 25 years to the day since a violent chemical explosion reverberated through the Lehigh Valley and parts of the Poconos.

That thunderous blast at Concept Sciences in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, left five people dead and 14 others injured.

The explosion also wiped out the building where it happened and damaged at least 11 other buildings around it.
