March 20th Yurt trip with Peak Adventures

We arrived at the yurt Wednesday night in a blizzard. It had snowed 12" Tuesday night and was snowing again Wednesday night. We headed down to the yurt to be greeted by the lucky guys who had riden what they thought was great snow on Tuesday. They had been hitting the wine pretty hard and were in the middle of storytelling when we arrived.

Wednesday night it snowed 17" and only let up Thusday briefly to allow the sun to poke out for 20 minutes at a time. The snow was close to 36" deep and only got deeper as the day went on.

Great pictures !!!! are you sure there is a yurt under all of that snow ?

Yes there is...... the picture of the entrance doesnt do it justice as you stand on the landing looking down the staircase into the yurt. In the summer that entrance is about 14' in the air..
