Proudly Deplorable
Despite cloud cover and the fact that we were traveling home to St Louis from Springfield, we were able to see the event.
At St. Clair MO, some 60 miles west, the clouds broke and we pulled into a closed MODOT weight station. Watched it happen until the blood moon (went red) and then drove a few miles east to see it in more total darkness for another 20 minutes.
When we arrived home about a hour later it was still in full eclipse, just coming out.
