Lost another

rback33

Hangin in Tornado Alley
Well, since I graduated high school in '96, I have now lost 3 class members. I just found out last night that we are burying the second one of this year. I had exchanged MySpace messages with this one a couple of weeks ago when she told me about the motorcycle accident that put her in the hospital for three weeks and killed her friend. Apparently she developed a blood clot and died yesterday. You guys might think it's strange that I am sitting here pining about the 3rd class member to pass in 12 years, but I graduated in a class of 32. We have lost almost 10% already. The first was a victim of murder in 2000. Her first ex-husband (who I went to school with as well)was convicted of the crime and is in prison. Such harsh realities are tough to deal with, especially when we are still so young. I just ask that you keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. I know she leaves behind at least one son and I think a daughter too.

Our family can do that.

You made me think though. I graduated with about 90 kids and in about the first ten years we had about 6 pass. I only know of about two since.

I had my 20 year reunion last year and out of a class of 62 we have lost 3. One was a drug overdose, 1 to a car accident and 1 to cancer.

It sure makes you think.

Definitely will keep them in my prayers.

On a side note, those are some really small graduating classes. My class (1990) was 365 and we've probably lost at least 10% from what I know of. We actually had a couple pass while we were in school.

wow. that sucks. added to the prayer list. losing classmates is never easy - even after this long, as it just makes you feel that much more mortal.

Sorry to hear about this Jeremy....It is a lost feeling. When you get home today give Hannah, and your Princess a big hug. I guarantee you will feel better.

That is so very tragic, Jeremy. These life occurences serve to give us pause....force us to contemplate our lives...where we are going, where we have been...makes us so very aware of how fragile life is and how for granted we take each other.... how very necessary it is to be kind to our fellow man and most importantly to evaluate how we are investing ourselves in our most valuable relationships. Family hugs when you get home!

Prayers sent.
I've been out of high school for 42 years and have no idea how many of my
class are gone. Started with about 366, I'm just glad to still be here.

Hey, Jeremy, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your classmate.
I graduated HS in 1980. About 3 or4 years later, one of the guys was killed in a farming accident. A few years later, one of the girls, who was an epileptic, died as a result of a fall during a seizure. That's 2 out of 32 gone. So, I kinda get how you feel.
Take care.

Sending my prayers and thoughts too.

I graduated from a very large class in 96 too. I have no idea how many are gone.

Thanks CG. I found out today that they are going to have a viewing and funeral here next week. I was worried since she and her family were all living in Colorado now that they would not do it. I have talked to several classmates on MySpace and we are all still shocked.

I graduated from, at the time, the largest high school in Missouri. Over 1500 graduates in '73. I just went to the class website and counted 45 known to have passed away.
Prayers on the way.
Hutch

Thats great that they are bring her back home, especially since you and your fellow classmates can now attend the viewing and funeral.
