looking for bombardier parts

Trailgroomer

New member
I have a 1972 skidozer sv200 and I am looking for the bracket and pulley for the cooling fan. The bearing went out and destroyed the shaft. any help is greatly appreciated. The engine is a 250 straight six and I have no idea if parts are still available.

Trailgroomer,

Sorry, but from the information you have posted, it's hard to tell just what parts you need. The bearing that went out, and the shaft that it damaged.....fan pulley....are you talking about the water pump? I think the engine is a Ford product, and perhaps an automotie parts store could fix you up. Or, is there a belt tightener on the fan belt that has gone bad? You will get very good help here if you can tell us more information about what is wrong with your rig. From our experiance, Ski Dozer parts are still availble, new and used. So give us some more, and someone will give you an answer.

Regards, Kirk

On this particular engine the fan does not run off of the water pump it is actually above that just about in line with the valve cover. it is a slotted adjuster that has a pulley on it and the fan bolts to that. the only things that run off of this pulley is the fan and the belt goes from the crank pulley to the fan pulley. it is an odd set up but they did it this way because it raises the fan up to the center of the radiator. I lloked in the owners manual for this model and it shows it there. let me know if this helps also where can I find skidozer parts??

If it is the stock installation then it is a Ford industrial engine. They are similar for the most part as the engines put in ford trucks and cars of the same era. The parts you are looking for could be Bombardier parts that they made specifically for your model snow cat. You may find new ones by contacting a Prinoth dealer as they bought out the snowcat devision of Bombardier. There are used parts available from some of the used snowcat dealers and fabricators like member Boogie. Search around this sight and you will find a lot of info regarding your type of situation and those that might have the parts. If it is a Ford made part then you can try the standard parts store but you have to find someone who knows more than how to read a computer screen and is willing to do a little research. You can also to a google search and find a ford industrial parts supplier nearest you as they are the ones who are going to be most likely to find new parts made specifically for your engine. Last resort, or maybe you only fix, is to have the parts fabricated by yourself or a machine shop. Shouldn't be all that difficult for the right person. Hope this helps.

My 200 has that design also. I hope my bearing doesn't fail - - - it sounds like a hard part to find. I got my 200 from Boggie and he's probably a good source for many Bombardier parts.

Since the bearing that is failing only supply’s power to the fan converting to an electric fan may be the best option.

I too Needed a Fan Hub and Bearing for my 1973 SV-200. What I ended up doing was going to my Local Ford Garage and they gave me the Name and Contact Number for a Ford Industrial Engine Dealer. But I have been getting Parts from Brad at Minnesota Outdoor Sports. He Might have a used one. The phone number is 218-828-7876
Hope this info can Help You.

Does anyone know where to find the metal track cleats for a 252 skidozer? I am wondering if they are a part that can be ordered or if its easier (cheaper) to have them made?

Are The cross links made of Alum or Steel? And they would cost more to make than Buy. If made wrong they would shorten the life of your drive sprockets.
You Can Get New and Sometimes used ones from Minnesota Outdoor Specialties. Phone number 218-828-7876 Ask for Brad, He is a member here.
I have 9 new Track Guards that were for a SV-301 I owned at one time. I think the part number is: 600-0043, and are for sale, Make me an Offer.

3 hole or 4hole guides

They are Three 1/2- inch Holes. Eleven inches long. I bought two Bombardier a SV301 with wide tracks and a Sv200, With all the spair parts they had in stock. I sold the 301 that didn't run very good and I am useing the 200. The track Guides must be for the 301 as they are longer that the 200. I'm open for an offer, I have 9 new.
