LMC3700 on Craigslist

almost bumbs me out that I got the 2700 that's seems like a nice machine for the money with all the grooming gear too. it does have a broken grouser that's a simple fix but too late for the barge this year and even though its in the right area the extra 3000 pounds adds up to extra weight. also it doesn't appear to have the cargo area of the 2700.

I don't think they are the same they are certainly the same year the photos are also similar but not the same. it was a great catch because scammers do sometimes use adds like that to scam us folks. there is a big price difference between the 2

forgot about that never seen one quite like that on a cat, bet it cost's a few bucks. at least it's not some kind of over flow tank, I was thinking what a mess to service the motor . I still like the clean roomy engine bays of the in line six models.

I wonder how much work it would be to cut this guy up and rebuild into a custom cab on the smaller redone chassis.

This one just too huge for an average user

The motor from what I remember in other applications is very durable. But its a throw away block, not sleeved. Don't think you would have to touch it very often except for servicing.
WHAT, cut it up! Some club needs to pick this one up for trail grooming

Lately I see them every where...

Another one was on CL the other week in MI at $5k.

If I only had a barn big enough for this project, I would bring it in, take it apart, narrow the frame & go with like 36-40inch tracks, so I can be right at the towable width for not being oversize.

It would be a perfect Snowcamper... LOL :) :) :)

there was one a few years back for sale it was a 2100 that he narrowed the frame chopped the tracks back to 2 band and put sprite axle tubes and axles on it it was a pretty cool looking rig another option for the guy not wanting a work machine is remove the drop boxes now you have a real overdrive unit that would look like the oc8 on the 600 series. Nixion if you wanted a franken cat maybe look at a 2100 they can be had cheep. narrow up the road wheels remove the drop boxes don't flip the ring gear than build your cab on the rear now you will be rear engine powered forward control with a ramped front track. and a real high speed mother at that. as a note the center mounted cab was done that way to smooth out the ride to the driver and reduce fatigue.
