Just signed up for a new credit card so I can rack up some airline miles on a different airline.

LIFELOCK froze the application.

I have to admit that I think LIFELOCK can be a pain in the butt sometimes, but its nice to know that it actually does protect your credit. I can't ever remember my member number, which makes it a pain, but once I dig it out and log into the service I really do appreciate the fact that they can shut down the world from stealing my stuff.

If you don't have it, and if you have things like bank accounts, debit and credit cards, then I think its worth the annual fee. They stopped at least one fraud attempt against me last year.

That's interesting Bob as it's something that I've been thinking a lot about lately.

Usually we use our credit cards (1 each) around our little town where we know just about everybody so the danger isn't too high but we are starting to travel more and that does tend to worry me a bit more. When you're on the road, either in the car or in the rv, you never know who you are handing your card over to.

Our credit card company is pretty good though. If they see anything that is strange, like the card being used away from our home area or a large purchase in a store we don't usually frequent, they put a stop on it. It can be a pain in the butt at times but it does give some measure reassurance.
