I got this from a reputable source. It appears to be an awesome cause. I'm surprised that Bob isn't behind it! ....maybe he is for all I know.

here is the blip:

Last minute request from Let's Bring Em Home LBEH. They have
currently purchased 150 tickets for servicemen E1-E4 using
generous contributions that exceeded their goals by 7500.
dollars this year. Unfortunately as you may guess with the
price of plane tickets being at an all time high this year
for military they still have a number of unfilled requests.
If you can and you have a few extra dollars or airline miles
that you aren't using go to http://www.lbeh.org/?status
and see what your money can do. Give a family the present of
enjoying Christmas with a service man who would be sitting on
a lonely base on Christmas Day.

Doc, I didn't know about it, but I will contribute.

EDIT: Doc, just an update, I went to the site and they make it very easy to donate for anyone who has a PAYPAL account. There is a link on the page titled HOW CAN I HELP that allows you to make a contribution via PayPal.

Let me relate a story that just happened a few minutes ago. I got a phone call at about 7:45am from a soldier who was in Camp Phoenix, Kabul, Afghanistan and we talked for over 30 minutes. She was one of the people who benefited from the packages my company sent over there. She was in tears during part of the conversation, and I was nearly in the same state. All she wanted to do was call and thank me for making her time over there be less lonely. Now other than the DVD collection I did, and publicized on TBN, where I collected a few hundred DVDs, all I did was send over cases of toothpaste, skin cream, shampoo, candy, asprin, snack foods, and other things. We sent on average 1 or 2 cases each week to one of the sargents on the base to be shared and distributed; apparently at mail call they would announce when "a package from Bob" arrived, I didn't have any clue there was such a positive impact from such a small gesture. But this one phone call I just got made the entire year of gifts seem small. To get a phone call just to hear the words "Thank You" is more than I ever expected.

I did the same for a small base in Iraq, just west of Bagdad. My Christmas present from them is the safe return of my truck driver. He is back in the USA now, and will be back to work within 2 weeks. He kept us informed all year. And I shared the photo of the guys in Sadr City, I don't know them, but I had a bunch of stuff collected and got Capt John Newman's name so he got the stuff.

Let me just be the first to say that if you have an extra $10 or $20, you can get a free box from the USPS and you can load up that box with stuff and send it over there, I will guarantee you that it will be greatly appreciated.

And if you don't want to send them a package, then donate to the link in Doc's post above. You won't regret it. It is what the whole Christmas & Chanukah season is all about.

Bob, That is great! Good job man!!!!!!!!

One question, how do you get the address of our guys and gals over in Iraq?

Well the easiest way I can think of right now is to ask Mike & Rose (PineRidge). Just send a PM to PineRidge right here on FF.

They actually have a list of addresses for soldiers over there who have purchased from their company. They have decided that soldiers serving overseas should not pay shipping so Mike & Rose pay the shipping. They offered to provide me with a list of soldiers, I'm sure they would gladly share that with other folks . . . especially since I have a small list of my own that I will sending stuff to and currently don't need more names.

The thing about what I do is it really doesn't take much effort and it personally touches people in a very positive way (which was just pointed out in the phone call this morning). Anyone can do it. Perhaps not on the same scale as what I did, but certainly with one package.

And let's all face it, we can all find some snack foods in our own kitchen cabinets that our belly won't miss. But even a box full of Fritos, Snickers, beef jerky and PowerBars will not cost you much but will really help out when someone sitting in the desert has nothing from home.
