OK, I have to fess up, I've not used my chain saw in 3 years. I know I didn't use it last year, and the year before that we spend the summer in the UK so I didn't use it then either. So its been sitting 3 years now since I got it back.
Changed out the fuel, checked the spark plug for fouling, cleaned up everything and started it up. Took a while, but it started, and it ran just fine. Toss it in the tractor bucket and drive down to the valley where we have some tree fall from the winter that needs to be cut.
Whoever borrowed the saw put the chain on backwards!!!
Admit it. . . which one of you was it. Or was it my brother the guy who didn't know to turn the butterfly valve under the fuel tank of his generator to get the gas to flow down to the engine!?!
Remind me later this summer NEVER TO LEND OUT A TOOL to a family member
