Leaky hydraulic fittings - replace hose or quick-release fitting?

Hey there!

I bet many people can answer this one!

Look at the attached photo and you'll see that I've got some hydraulic leaks on the quick-release fittings.

What's the recommended solution? Replace the quick-release fitting or the hose? Northern Tool a good source?

Thanks!

Ken

Ken, 90% of the time it is just the O Ring inside the female end that will correct it. on your other problem if you do not need the roll just swap the hoses and use that function for your angle cylinders. :thumb:

Thanks Boggie. I'll consider that, too.

Got a recommended source for these o-rings?

I measure their O.D. to be 1 1/16". What is the actual size I'd order?

Thanks everybody.

Ken

Any autoparts sotre will have o-rings. I always carry a bunch of them with me in the cab. They blow quite frequently on the fittings for the drag in the back.

Problem solved! $0.50 and a trip to the hardware store works wonders, indeed. Thanks Brad and GroomerguyNWO. I'm miles ahead now.

Could only get better if I could figure out that darned solenoid switch problem. . .

Isn't it amazing what a trip to the store and a 50 cent piece of rubber will do.
it has been know to fix all kinds of leaks :yum: :yum:

As far as the electrical problem you of all people Ken should be able to fix that. I think you are over qualified in that department. but see if your valve has a manual override and push it and see if the blade moves . if that works check the Ohm reading on the coil, if that works apply the voltage from another know good source, if that works work it back to the switch then to the panel. :thumb:

Okay Brad, I'll do my best and you're right that I can figure it out. The only thing I'm short on is time. . . so planning ahead and thinking about how to handle this problem today is important for the 1.5 hours I'll get to put on it Thursday afternoon. You gave me a few tips that'll save some time.

Thanks for all the help!

Ken
