Kioti is now Bobcat ?????

Gone But Not Forgotten
Anyone else hear about this ? I was told Bobcat bought out Kioti and that they will now be Kioti's with the Bobcat name on them . The guy ,who owns a Kioti , swore it was true and said it was told to him by a Kioti Rep at a farm show ...

I don't know if Bobcat purchased Kioti or not, but I do know that Bobcat is now selling repainted Kioti tractors under the Bobcat name.

I also know that at one time Bobcat was looking at buying an engine company. Bobcat relied very heavily on Kubota for engines for their machines. Bobcat's parent company had tons of cash on hand a couple years ago and was shopping. There were rumors they were looking at buying Daedong. I honestly stopped following the story because I own neither brand.

Interesting .....

I have never needed parts ,other than filters for my DK45 Kioti . If it is true I sure hope that a supply source of parts for the older Kioti name brand is still avalible .
We have a Kioti dealer about 45 miles from here and I will stop by and ask them for a update .

I tried searching for a link to verify the merger last night but could not find anything about this .

Allen I think Kioti is still selling tractors. The closest dealer here is now in the next county but he still was selling the brand. I'm just under the impression that Bobcat is ALSO selling the same tractor, just painted white.

I don't know who owns the company.

Yea..... I went right by the Kioti Dealer yesterday when I picked up my New Tine rake and the Kioti Sign was plastered all over the place . I did not learn of a possible buyout/merger with Bobcat until last night when I was buying a bunch of 18" culvert from a guy or I would have stopped in and asked .
You know ... now that I think of it , they were also a Bobcat dealer too ??????

Bobcat to Enter Compact Utility Tractor — July 31, 2007

In a move intended to expand its No. 1 market position in compact equipment, Bobcat Company announced today that it has signed a long-term strategic agreement with a highly respected Korean manufacturer, Daedong Industrial Co. Ltd., to produce a line of Bobcat-branded compact utility tractors.

“This alliance brings together the strengths of two respected and recognized companies,” said David Rowles, president of Bobcat Americas. “By combining the Bobcat global brand, dealer network and service with Daedong’s commitment to compact tractor design and technology, we can provide our customers with the quality compact equipment experience they’ve come to expect from Bobcat. We plan to start offering compact utility tractors to customers later this year.”

“Daedong is very pleased to have entered into this agreement with Bobcat Company,” said Jun-Sik Kim, president of Daedong. “We, as a company, look forward to building on our strengths by providing Bobcat customers with quality, affordable tractors with marketplace staying power through this alliance.” Daedong has produced compact equipment products for the past 60 years.

“This compact utility tractor line will complement our current Bobcat compact equipment lineup, which includes skid-steer, compact track, all-wheel steer and mini track loaders, compact excavators, telescopic tool carriers, utility vehicles, utility work machines and job-matched attachments,” said Bruce Collins, vice president of attachments and vehicles for Bobcat Company.

“The quality of the Daedong product line is well recognized by customers as world-class,” said Seong-Ki Kim, chief of the international business division for Daedong. “Bobcat and Daedong will achieve high synergy in this business collaboration.”

In evaluating this market, Bobcat did extensive voice-of-customer and voice-of-dealer work to validate specific compact utility tractor features. The Bobcat project team worked with a team from Daedong to create a compact utility tractor that meets Bobcat-brand expectations.

Nearly 50 years ago, Bobcat introduced a compact front-end loader that became the world’s first skid-steer loader, later adopting the familiar “Bobcat” brand. Bobcat Company leads the world in the design, manufacture and distribution of compact equipment, with more than 4,000 employees in plants and offices around the globe.

Ok ,I understand it better now ,thanks . I was sure hoping Kioti was still going to be around . I had a Kubota Tractor for years and they are a great rig ,but I do believe that my Kioti performs in every way equal to or better than my Kubota did . I am not sorry I bought one and saved $14000 to boot in "Apples to Apples" comparisons .:thumb:

wanna loan me that TLB for a couple of weeks?
:D

I need to dig footings for the new pole building.

and what state does it currently reside in?
cleaning is easy - there's a manual car wash down the road I can run the trailer into...
:D

hmmm... I wonder if a jury would find it justifiable - since I suspect if I skipped out on our planned vacation in 10 days to make a road trip to NY (twice) to borrow a tractor, not only my wife, but also the friends from Pa we're meeting in the ozarks, would "go biblical on my a$$"... oh, well. maybe next time... :D
