J5 Purchase / Questions

I purchased a 1972 J5 last week in Fairbanks that seems to be in pretty fair condition for $3k. All the engine cylinders compression tested good at 125-130psi. Shifts and steers good. But tracks and sprockets are pretty well shot. Grousers look great. Differential has a clean fluid drip. I am looking forward to restoring it this winter. While looking it over Yesterday I noticed that both rear wheels leaned in at the top about 5 degrees. Is this normal? If this is damage it seems odd both wheels would be bent the same degree? The frame that supports the wheel hub looks square. If anyone has done a similar J5 restoration and has part numbers and supply sources I would sure appreciate any info you have to share. Just looking it over I know I will need Track Belting, fuel pump, 2 foam filled tires, bearings, seals, dust caps, two drive sprockets, paint, and lots of elbow grease.

Bearings in the rear wheels might be bad. They take a lot of abuse.

Call Minnesota Outdoors for parts.

Congrats and welcome to the J5 club !!!!!
