J5 grousers

Junkyard Dog

I have a 1959 J5 that has worn grousers on the left track, they are all cracked where the drive sprocket rides. Can they be welded or do they become too brittle and break? Or is the best thing to replace them all. The track belting is old and I'm afraid to disturb too much. Any thoughts? Thanks Junkyard Dog:glare:

when using 7018 pre heat your rod to aout 180 in the oven also pre heat your base metal the same and weld dc negitive and you should get good results if you can handle a stick welder 7018 can be finicky once you learn how to burn it it becomes your best friend
